First we took their shirts, then we snapped up their jeans, now we’re onto their jackets. Our boyfriends are getting ransacked.
Old or new, the letterman jacket has always been a solid bet. We’re seeing them everywhere, from a psychedelic version by Prabal Gurung to Top Shop’s more traditional take. All and all, the style and shape isn’t changing much so going vintage is a great way to get the look for heaps less cash. I’ve got my eye on this one at eBay. There’s tons more here. As part of the new Junya Watanabe COMME des GARCONS MAN Fall/Winter 2012 Collection the Japanese brand has teamed up with Gloverall and presents a fantastic mix of a classic duffle coat and a varsity jacket. Over the years we have seen many nice alterations of the iconic baseball jacket by Junya and this is another smart version. The length, hood and toggles from the duffle coat, the colors, leather sleeves and general look of a varsity jacket get merged.
