Winona Ryder in High School
“I was wearing an old Salvation Army shop boy’s suit. As I went to the bathroom I heard people saying, ‘Hey, faggot’. They slammed my head into a locker. I fell to the ground and they started to kick the shit out of me. I had to have stitches. The school kicked me out, not the bullies.
Years later, I went to a coffee shop and I ran into one of the girls who’d kicked me, and she said, ‘Winona, Winona, can I have your autograph?’ And I said, ‘Do you remember me? Remember in seventh grade you beat up that kid?’ And she said, ‘Kind of’. And I said, ‘That was me. Go fuck yourself.’ ”
Levi’s® Station To Station: New York Recap
Tonight marked the launch of Levi’s® extensive Station to Station campaign, a cultural outreach in conjunction with highly acclaimed artist Doug Aitken. Falling under this season’s #MakeYourMark initiative, the event held at Riverfront Studios, Brooklyn invited guests from all over to partake in a night of cultural intrigue ranging from music and performance art to installations and live artisanal work on display. Some of the names in attendance included Suicide, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Jonah Bokaer & AIRLOCKS and the Kansas City Marching Cobras on the musical end while creatives such as Kenneth Anger, Urs Fischer, Liz Glynn, Kathryn Andrews, Olaf Breuning and Thomas Demand all provided ample visual stimuli. The next stop on the Station to Station tour will be Pittsburgh, which in addition to the slated Station to Station event will include a special Round Table discussion involving Eddie Huang of Baohaus and DJ So Super Sam who will share their thoughts and insights into their process and craft.

Levi’s Creates Trucker Denim Jackets with André & Shepard Fairey
Levi’s continues to promote the opening of its recent flagship store in Paris on the iconic Champs-Elysées. After having worked for the opening with Pedro Winter of Ed Banger Records and James Murphy, they have now teamed up with graffiti artists André and Shepard Fairey to produce some limited edition trucker denim jackets. Similar to the jackets that we have already seen last year for the ‘Art on the Streets’ exhibition at the MOCA in Los Angeles, these are the most classic denim jackets by Levi’s with custom embroideries placed on the back.
Priced at 190 Euros (235 USD) the jackets will release on June 14th, exclusively at the new Levi’s Paris store.
