Grace Coddington to Release a Fragrance in Collaboration with Comme des Garçons

Grace recently stepped down from her full-time role at Vogue Magazine to make time for new projects. The first one is a collaboration with Comme des Garçons Parfum. With Adrian Joffe and Comme des Garçons Parfum Creative Director, Christian Astuguevieille, they’ve created Grace’s first fragrance that has top notes derived from her long time love of roses. For its distinctive bottle, Grace worked closely with artist Fabien Baron.

Peter Schlesinger's Photography Brings You Into the '70s World of Andy Warhol and Grace Coddington

Peter Schlesinger has always been behind the scenes, snapping candid moments of his close friends who were, more often than not, famous celebrities and artists. The photographer has inadvertently produced one of the fashion and art world’s finest portraits after spending time with friends like Anna Wintour, Manolo Blahnik, Cecil Beaton, Kathy Huberland, Reto Guntli, Dom Hamilton, Rex Reed, Anna Piaggi, Amanda Lear, Laura Faber, Tina Chow, Fran Lebowitz and of course partner Eric Boman in cities like London, Paris and New York throughout the ’70s.

The California-born photographer fell in love with the art scene when he moved to London with his lover David Hockney in the late ’60s. Scenes like Robert Mapplethorpe on the Boulevard Saint-Germain, Grace Coddington at a café in Paris, or Andy Warhol in the backseat of a taxi were all but an average day in Schlesinger’s world where the glitz and glamour of stars were shed among intimate circles.

Take a look at some of Schlesinger’s work in the gallery above, which are featured in his book A Photographic Memory 1968-1989. You can purchase Peter Schlesinger’s book online for $50 USD.

Grace Coddington Talks About Her Memoir

When we were offered the rare opportunity to interview Grace Coddington, the longtime creative director of Vogue (and the breakout star of "The September Issue"), we were thrilled. Even more so once we read her recently published memoir Grace. Witty and full of funny anecdotes about her journey from the small town of Anglesey, Wales to the front row of every major fashion show, the book was like gossiping with a colleague about the ins and outs of our industry. In the book, Coddington describes her adventures in modeling in London, her love of cats and, of course, her long tenure at Vogue, working side-by-side with Anna Wintour.

First Looks: Grace Coddington's ‘Pumpkin’ Line for Balenciaga

As previously reported, Grace Coddington has designed a capsule collection with Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga named after her cat, Pumpkin. According to a press release from the label, the line of scarves and bags will feature Coddington's own drawings of her petit chat modeling various Balenciaga looks from the past decade. Here's what you can look forward to when the line launches (on Fashion's Night Out, of course):

Central to the new accessories line is the “Pumpkin Papier” tote bag ($1,000). Produced in either ecru or bright pumpkin canvas with black calfskin trim, the bag is decorated with a playful print of Pumpkin the Cat wearing Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière.

Two printed “Pumpkin” scarves round out the collection, one in a classic silk twill and one in fringed wool and silk ($395 and $495, respectively).

They will also be donating 20 percent of the proceeds to the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.

Grace Coddington Memoir Will Be Based On Her Diaries

It won't be out in time to take to the beach, but Grace Coddington's upcoming memoir is sure to be the hottest book among fashionable readers.

In case you'd forgotten, the Vogue editor, who we fell in love with from 2009's "The September Issue" and have been missing ever since, is working on a book about her life to be co-written with pal and Vanity Fair style editor-at-large Michael Roberts. Some details emerged last summer about the tome, which will cover everything from Grace's childhood in England to her time as a model in '60s London.

The book, reported the Observer, was sold to Random House for a cool (and rumored) $1.2 million. But those anticipating a juicy tell-all will be just a bit disappointed.

"I’m not telling secret stories," Grace tells the New York Post's Cindy Adams. "Not writing ugly bad things to get back at anyone. This book’s not gossipy. It’s more a record. I’ve kept a diary since I was a tiny kid trying to find my way, and going through all my written records reminds me of shoots and jogs my memory." Fine by us -- it's the shoots, the sumptuous fashion spreads for which Coddington is famous, that we'll be looking out for. Earlier reports in Women's Wear Daily also mentioned the inclusion of colleague interviews -- meaning, perhaps, an Anna Wintour cameo?

We'll have to wait and see. According to Grace, the book debuts in November
