Sia - Alive

After dancing queen Maddie Ziegler bowed out of Sia’s triptych of mega hit videos (“Chandelier”, “Elastic Heart” and “Big Girls Cry”) we began speculating who exactly might be the singers next wig-wearing muse. However, if this latest video for soaring new single “Alive” is anything to go by, our predictions were totally off and it might just be this ridiculously cute (and badass!) martial artist. The cinematic clip, which was directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, sees the young star perform moves in an abandoned warehouse while wearing a monochrome wig. Although if we know Sia, there will be much more than meets the eye.

XHIBITION - Yeezy Boost 350

With the impending release of the much-hyped adidas Originals Yeezy Boost 350, footwear enthusiasts in a range of different circles have become riled up about the merits of the sneaker — but one place you might not expect to find a pair is on the feet of a ballerina. However, Cleveland-based sneaker boutique XHIBITION has done exactly that, thus putting the technical aspects of the BOOST-equipped shoe to the test with no shortage of pliés, pirouttes and pointe work, for a stamp of approval for use within the rigorous demands of ballet. Check out the unconventional promo above, and anticipate the Yeezy Boost 350 to drop online and in-store at XHIBITION on June 27.

Public Service Broadcasting - Gagarin

"Gagarin" is an ode to the Russian cosmonaut Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin, the first man to journey into outer space and orbit the earth, in 1961. In a joint statement, Willgoose and Wrigglesworth tell us, "We wanted to do something that reflected the sheer, triumphant exuberance of the time, and the fame, mystique and myth that instantly grew around the first man in space.

FADER TV Bops Through Chicago's West Side With Sicko Mobb

No matter the style, sound, or era, hip-hop lives and dies in the street. Kids taking in the sounds and spirit of their ten-block radius and spewing out art so seamlessly they don't even realize it's art? It's just another Friday night. Here at FADER, we've been obsessed with the dance culture pulsing out of Chicago's west side known as bop, an elastic whirlwind of elbows and knees that draws from uprock breakdancing, Black frat strolling, and genderless body rolls, all set to melodies so sugary that the most skilled practitioners do kids birthday parties as a side hustle. One of the movement's theme songs is Sicko Mobb's "Fiesta," so during a recent trip to Chicago, the FADER TV crew caught up with the duo to hear about the culture from the dancers living it.

Hermès ‘Man on the Move’ Film

Since 1987, it has been a tradition for Hermès to attribute each seasonal collection to a specific theme that inspires its artistic direction. The first official theme – titled “The Year of Fireworks” – was introduced by the late Jean-Louis Dumas to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the fashion house. Now, Jean-Louis’s son and current artistic director of Hermès – Pierre-Alexis Dumas – gives this storytelling concept a contemporary spin with a slight element of humor. For its 2014 spring/summer range, the longstanding brand celebrates metamorphosis with a whimsical short film titled, “Man on the Move.” Directed by Romain Laurent and shot in Paris, dancer Jérémie Bélingard magically jumps in and out of clothing from Hermès’ current collection.

CR Fashion Book  Issue 2 - "Transformation" VIDEO

In this CR Fashion Book exclusive short, Paul Maffi captured some of the Ballet Collective dancers on film as they go from the dance studio to the stage. They make impossible movements possible with their stretches, they ready their feet and their shoes, and practice those pirouettes, all in preparation for a breathtaking, beautiful performance. In the final scenes, fashion and ballet collide when the dancers don clothes from the likes of Rick Owens and Givenchy.
