Preview ‘The Greasy Hands Preachers’ Motorcycle Film by Belstaff

‘The Greasy Hands Preachers,’ a film made possible by Belstaff and executive producer Orlando Bloom, examines the lives of those dedicated to the world of custom motorbikes. Following familiar names including Roland Sands, Shinya Kimura and the crew from Blitz Motorcycles, we look at, not only the sport of riding, but the intense emotional connection that many riders have with build process itself and their custom prized creations. The action-packed film is shot with a backdrop of stunning scenery from the hills of Galicia to the saltflats of Utah, all captured on Super-16mm film for one pleasing visual experience. Taking in a range of experiences from across the globe, this ode to biker culture a reminder that “four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.” Rent or purchase the film here.

Mr Porter X Belstaff: On the Road Cali

In line with the last short film in the series with Greg Buntain of Fort Standard, Belstaff and Mr.Porter take us on a trip with Mercedes-Benz restoration specialist Mr J G Francis, across the Californian desert in one of his favorite models to date, the 1973 250C Coupé. Inspired by a car-crazy neighbour he had as a kid, Mr Francis turned his lifelong obsession into a career with the opening of Mercedes Motoring, specializing in restoring low-mileage diesel models produced between 1968 and 1985 back to their original condition.

Belstaff Cafe Racer Motorbikes by Taras Kravtchouk

Belstaff commissioned Taras Kravtchouk, founder of Stockholm-based design agency Gravity Hill, to design two cafe racer motorbikes for their flagship stores. The silver 73 Triumph T100 and the black 64 BSA A65 are respectively displayed at their LA and New York locations, both marked with vintage racing-style numerals and branded with a unique Belstaff script. Like other items designed by Kravtchouk, the bikes have a sleek and modern Swedish aesthetic to them, being clean and modern without any flashiness. Our favorite of the two racers is the BSA A65 because of its contrasting gold detailing seen on the chain and Kravtochouk’s signature “T” laurel wreath. Handsome and rugged leading men are having a fashion moment (Prada’s fall campaignand Ewan McGregor for Belstaff). Band of Outsiders is the latest label to tap a full-blooded male from the silver screen as its face.

Josh Brolin, otherwise known as Mr. Diane Lane, recently appeared in the movie Men in Black 3and has four movies in various states of production now, according to IMDb. And now he can add a starring role in the Band of Outsiders Fall 2012 lookbook to his impressive resume.

As he has done in the past in his lookbooks, BOO’s Scott Sternberg photographed Brolin on vintage Polaroid film, looking every inch the Marlboro Man. Shot on location at the Sunset Ranch Hollywood in Los Angeles, the imagery is grainy and nostalgic,
