Converted Church Becomes Colorful Skate Park

The Spanish municipality of Llanera, Asturias is home to this converted skate park that was once a church, aptly named La Iglesia Skate. Okuda San Miguel then took on the monumental task of revitalizing its bare walls and adding color to its interiors. The result is a range of stunningly colorful murals that offer a psychedelic touch to the vaulted ceilings and high windows. San Miguel’s signature geometric art and faceted paintings were commissioned in part with Red Bull, and if you ever get the chance make sure to visit the space.

Liam Goslett Takes Lotuff Around the World

There’s something about leather. Perhaps it’s its versatility, timelessness, or the way it gains character after years of use and abuse. Whatever it is, leather has always been linked to adventure and the outdoors. This summer, photographer and wanderer Liam Goslett hits the road with Lotuff’s vegetable-tanned trunk duffle, looking for new thrills, and of course, the odd photography subject. His expansive journey took him along backroads and fields in France and Spain; through beaches, deserts and the famed spice markets of Morocco, and beyond. From candid, humorous snaps of goats relaxing among tree foliage, to boat rides, bike rides and hikes across pastures and city streets, Liam’s duffle and camera were right by his side. Learn more about his travels here and shop Lotuff here.

Jürgen Nefzger -Spain 2011-2012

In 2008, the credit crunch in Spanish banks caused the property bubble to burst. Tens of thousands of unsold apartments and development sites have turned into new ghost towns around Madrid. The fantasies developers used to project onto these semi-arid landscapes now seem outdated. These towns have been suddenly demoted to ruin status, and evoke a future devoid of any prospects.

Volatile Structure: Geraldo Zamproni’s Inflatable Sculptures Invade New York

Each October, New York City-based art group Art in Odd Places(AiOP) hosts is annual festival, leaving us in a treasure hunt throughout the city for such ingenious instillations as Daniel Bejar’s “Get Lost,” in which modern subway maps are replaced with maps depicting how New York City’s five boroughs appeared geographically prior to colonization, and Margarita Garcia and Xinglang Guo’s “Moving Meditations,” a series of subterranean meditative gestures in subway cars. This year’s festival also features Brazilian artist Geraldo Zamproni’s “Volatile Structure,” a series of inflatable red pillows that snuggle the streets New York (his pillows have previously comforted the streets Brazil and Spain). Today is the last day of the 10-day fest, so peel your eyes along 14th Street (between avenues B and C), where these conspicuous sculptures are playing hide and seek.

Watch A Trailer For Diddy's 'Ibiza' VIDEO

Earlier today Sean “Diddy” Combs unveiled the trailer for an upcoming project entitled “Ibiza.” Directed by Chris Latouche, “Ibiza” is a short film celebrating Diddy’s love for the Mediterranean island. The trailer is a hyper-stylized combination of gorgeous footage of the island and shots of Diddy living large. The full video is set to debut sometime this fall.

Complaining about the film world’s lack of originality and daringness would feel shameful if it wasn’t so damn easy to find reasons to grumble. And the last 10 years, which have seen a multitude of trends come and go, A-list movie stars continually fail to open non-franchise movies, and the box office dominance of one Harry Potter, have given us plenty reasons to criticize. For instance, we’d need at least four hands to count the number of lifeless and inept horror remakes that genre fans have been assaulted with, and you know it’s slow creatively in Hollywood when Spider-Man gets completely rebooted (with this summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man) a mere five years after a $337-million-earning sequel (2007’s Spider-Man 3).

As you can tell, though, it’s a celebration around the Complex offices these days, after 10 years doin' it, and doin' it well, and when it came time to reflect upon the films that best represent our brand’s decade-long run, one fact became clear: For all of the whining movie purists do these days, those of us who painstakingly seek out quality over instant accessibility have more cause for elation than bitching.

Thanks to names like Judd ApatowDavid FincherDaniel Day-Lewis, and Joel and Ethan Coen, as well as sick genre purveyors from countries such as France and Spain, the last 10 years have collectively been catnip for us reel folks. See for yourselves as we count down The 100 Best Movies Of The Complex Decade.

Marc Jacobs - Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh Commercial VIDEO

Marc Jacobs Not only is this the first TV commercial for Marc Jacobs’ very popular fragrances Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh, but it is actually his first TV commercial… ever. Who would have thought?

Marc Jacobs enlisted the help of TJ Wilcox and Juergen Teller to direct his debut TV commercial, as well as models Frida Gustavsson, Sophie Srej and Hannah Holman – who we think could easily join the circus thanks to her impeccable balancing skills, demonstrated by making lying atop a horse while balancing a giant perfume bottle on her body look so effortless.

The commercial was shot in southern Spain, very aptly taking place in a field full of daisies – complete with a white horse that looks like it came straight out of a fairytale. Dream a Little Dream of Me is the perfect song to add to the fantasy/fairytale concep
