Azealia Banks ‘Blows Up’ on Dazed & Confused’s Controversial New Cover

Dazed & Confused released its September cover, which features Azealia Banks blowing up a condom. The magazine claimed seven countries took preventative measures of their own upon seeing the image, banning the cover even before it hit newsstands — which seems like a bit much, because we can name plenty of other, more offensive things she could have had in her mouth.

Who’s Covering What: All the September Issue Cover Stars Revealed

It’s that time of year again. Nope, we don’t mean Comic Con–we’re talking about September glossy cover reveals. September issues are traditionally the cash cows for any fashion mag, and whoever graces the cover can make or break that month’s sales. In addition to a bit of sleuthing of our own, WWD has its annual list of who’s covering what today.

Overall it’s not a very surprising list. They’re all celebrities, and generally fall into two camps: the tried-and-true Hollywood diva and the cute, popular up-and-comers. And with a few exceptions, all of these ladies have appeared on the titles they’re covering this September in the past. A good track record is obviously important. A few spoilers? Kim Kardashian didn’t land any covers, and neither did Gwyneth Paltrow or Kate Moss, both of whom can usually be counted on every year.
