Following the highly shared, already mocked and perhaps photoshopped Justin Bieber for Calvin Klein Underwear ad campaign, the label has reported that they gained over 3.6 million followers across its social media platforms. Undoubtedly generating a huge amount of talk and exposure, no one is benefiting more than Calvin Klein. In the mere 48 hours following the release of the campaign, the #mycalvins hashtag generated a staggering 1.6 million Twitter mentions. The brand is set to gain more exposure with Bieber scheduled for his own Comedy Central roast. This report undeniably affirms the effectiveness of web advertising and the power of social media for brands. Love him or hate him, scantily-clad Bieber has done exactly what he was hired to do.

Calvin Klein‘s Spring 2015 global advertising campaign features supermodel Lara Stone and new face of the label Justin Bieber. In images that are reminiscent of Marky Mark’s 1992 campaign for the label, Bieber is depicted in similar poses with the Dutch beauty Stone evoking a close parallel to her 1992 counterpart Kate Moss. Shot by famed fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the still images are also accompanied by two 30-second clips: one of Bieber expertly playing the drums while Stone slowly approaches him before they embrace; and the second comprised of fast cutaway shots of Bieber in the iconic brands boxer brief shorts.

Kate Moss Turns Director for British Vogue

Kate Moss turns director and camerawoman for the September 2014 issue of British Vogue. For her very first foray into filmmaking, the iconic model shot Lara Stone as the Dutch bombshell–styled by Moss as well–bonds with the beautiful British Lupines for her Mario Sorrenti-photographed spread. Fittingly, the Super 8 piece lends a unique lo-fi filmic quality to the shoot while Moss’ husband–guitarist Jamie Hince–lends his own work to the film as The Kills’ “Goodnight Bad Morning” scores Moss’ debut.
