I’m absolutely OBSESSED with the concept of “Glamrock DJ Music Man”.

Not only can he give like, the BEST hugs ever, and kids likely wouldn’t be as scared of him, and he can DRAW, But there’s also so many ways that DJ being this shape would drastically change the flow of my AU!

If DJ looked like this? He would no longer be confined to the Arcade. He would have the freedom to roam where ever he wants to like the others do. So when DA starts acting weird and eventually disappears? Instead of just sitting there and hoping for the best.. DJ would just straight up leave the Arcade and go check on him. In which Sunny would be able to explain what was going on in the safety of the Daycare.

DJ would have access to so much more information as well! When Freddy and the gang started acting weird and disappeared, DJ would be able to actually go and talk to them. In which he would find out that something is wrong with all of them. DJ being unable to leave the Arcade has greatly limited everyone’s flow of information, considering the “bug” didn’t effect DJ the same way it did the others.. He could have witnessed everyone’s slow decline into malfunction with clear eyes. And probably could have stopped it. He could have even told Freddy and the others about their weird behavior once they were fixed. But alas, in cannon he just simply cant leave the Arcade. And thus couldn’t help any of his friends in their time of need.🥺

Meet Rain!

She is in charge of a nursery located in the Superstar Daycare because someone’s gotta be responsible for the even littler ones! She is accompanied by a few smaller animatronics she treats as her own kids called the Droplettes who help her with her work. Personality-wise she’s very much like a motherly teacher, overprotective and always putting her job first.

For her design- Rain quite literally has eyes on the back of her head so she is aware at all times. She can also rotate her head 360° so the raindrop chimes act as a mobile. Her arm joints can twist around as well so she can work the same - front and back - though the thumbs make it a bit awkward. Seeing as she doesn’t have legs, Rain doesn’t get around much, so she is confined to the nursery room, but that’s alright! The Droplettes keep her company and tell her all about the wonders of the Pizzaplex

Assembling some of the more unsorted and random headcanons I have about Sunrise and Moondrop and the Superstar Daycare

-Sunrise/Moondrop don’t automatically switch just when the lights go off, it’s power fluctuations in the network that they’re integrated with that causes them to lose control and switch. Otherwise the flashlight or any light or shade could feasibly cause them to turn back and forth. Unglitched they usually have full control over the change.

-Sunrise used to have pupils before the glitch. They were pretty and green.

-Moondrop’s eyes used to be a calming blue before the glitch, they turned red when Afton and Vanny took over.

-Sunrise/Moondrop have tons of costumes and dress-up items in the Daycare for kids wanting to play pretend, and, of course, they’re willing to dress up too, in a dress or wig or whatever is needed to play along.

-Storytime is so popular at the Daycare thanks to Moondrop and Sunrise’s great presentation that sometimes parents and other unrelated patrons of the Pizzaplex will gather on the mezzanine balcony to watch and listen too.

Security Breach- More Angst for the Caretaker AU

My bizarrely popular Caretaker AU has really taken off, so I thought I’d give all you angst-lovers a new painful meal.

It occurred to me, that since there’s busted up STAFF Bots behind Sunrise’s balcony, not just disassembled, but destroyed- there may have been something completely different that happened back there.

There’s all kinds of possible theories for what happened to these bots, but for the AU’s sake let’s recall that Gregory was an orphan found by Sunrise/Moondrop in the Pizzaplex, hiding after hours since he had nowhere else to go and took him in and provided for him in his overbearing, but very kind and caring way. It’s almost like having his mom back, though he barely remembers her. The abuse and neglect he suffered in the foster homes he was shuffled through always eclipsed any happy memories of before.

Now, the balcony has a hidden access in the nearby Fazbear Theater. Gregory would be assured that it’s completely safe, there’s no way anyone would be able to find him back there, but one day, as the evening switch is rolling around, STAFF finds him in the hidden room, maybe they investigate a noise or Vanessa instructed them to look in that area since she wants total coverage and obviously there’s no cameras back there. And Vanny wants to find more kids, she’s already found a couple hiding away in the Pizzaplex... The STAFF Bots come barging in and since he has no guest profile, Gregory is immediately classified as an intruder.

They try to take him and he cries out for help. Sunrise comes immediately. There’s a ruckus, a terribly violent one, especially as the hour chimes and Moondrop is unleashed,  the lovely room, the new home Sunrise had made up for Gregory is torn to pieces. Things get... messy. And the glitch takes hold, maybe it’s a literal infection from a scratch or contact with the STAFF bots. Maybe Vanny actually manifests somehow and starts to take control.

Moondrop fights back, but he’s unable to resist Afton’s influence. Sunrise’s already fragile AI is damaged in the struggle too, erasing the memories he has of Gregory one by one. In his resistance, Moondrop destroys more of the balcony room, scaring Gregory. Moondrop tries to tell Gregory to run, to get far away, clutching his head as his normally soothing blue glowing eyes flash red...

Gregory has to run for it, he doesn’t cry... much, he’s toughened himself up, but a single tear escapes him as he runs away down the corridor and into the crowded theater- this is still during business hours, and there’s a party going on. Gregory’s misery is only surreally compounded when compared to the smiling faces and laughter around him. He’s not even given a chance for a breather, as some STAFF bots on stage seem to notice him, he gets himself good and lost in the crowd. Eventually he winds up inside Freddy’s Birthday Cake belly hatch, reluctant to trust anyone.

And we all know the moment when his heart breaks into a thousand pieces... A pupilless, blank-eyed Sunrise, still looking a little grungy, rising out of the ballpit, handling him with complete unfamiliarity.

Hello, NEW friend, are we having a slumber party? Where are all of your friends?

Perhaps some part of Sunrise’s memory lingered, as he acted very strange, but not completely hostile at first. Perhaps he recalled a shadow of a byte, a corrupted image with a corrupted name... “G#r%^ry?” but the protocol was crystal clear:

PROTECT. KEEP HIM SAFE. KEEP THE LIGHTS ON.

When he’s unable to do even that for this child he doesn’t know, he does the only thing he can, he bans him from the Daycare. In his own insular, confused, and frenetically neurotic programming right now, it seems like the only logical thing. Get the child away from danger. At least then his Bad Side won’t be able to get him; little does Sunrise know that Moondrop has already broken free of the netted “cage” of the Daycare and roams, searching, doing a monster’s bidding.

Perhaps, if it weren’t for Sunrise’s constant fighting against him, Moondrop would be searching constantly and incessantly instead of just at the end of each hour. It’s all that Sunrise can do, it’s not enough, it will never have been enough, and both Sunrise and Moondrop will live with the guilt for the entirety of their artificially intelligent lives.

Gregory’s nightmares will probably go away with time, he is a child and we all know he’ll have Faz-Fam support, but Sunrise and Moondrop, their electric sheep dreams of lifeless children, torn to pieces, and looking down at their own articulated hands dripping with blood, will forever haunt them.

“…wow.”

D-do you like it?

Some more inspiration for my Caretaker AU with Sunrise/Moondrop as the orphan Gregory’s caretaker before the events of Security Breach. His room behind the balcony was done up like this, giving Gregory a small, but clean place to live. Until the glitch took hold and made Moondrop go crazy one day. Moondrop ripped Gregory’s new home apart and scared the boy away.

Caretaker AU still lives rent free in my head.

Delving Even Deeper Into My Security Breach Sunrise/Moondrop Headcanons

You guys really seem to like my FNAF SB headcanons, so I wanted to share some more about the Daycare Attendant...

-Sunrise/Moondrop used to have control over their change from sun to moon. Usually it’s a day-night or morning-afternoon type of thing, but the Glitch made everyone unstable and seriously messed with the runnings of the Pizzaplex, making the technicians into nervous wrecks.

-They used to be able to do something of a peek-a-boo trick with younger kids going back and forth between Sunrise and Moondrop behind their hands or popping in and out of the ballpit, changing each time.

-Sunrise/Moondrop are part of the same deep learning AI personality, but it’s split in order to contain the vast amount of information about all the kids in the Pizzaplex Guest server. The two personalities developed independent of human interference.

-Sunrise/Moondrop used to be on very good terms. They communicate through “self-dialogue” inside their simulated consciousness.

-The glitch made it so Moondrop is much, much more aggressive, dangerously so, and so Sunrise has started trying to keep him from taking control. But when the lights go out- that is, power fluctuations in the Pizzaplex grid (not just the lights, that’s just an indicator) Sunrise’s control slips since Moondrop is designated to take over in cases of emergency as he’s supposed to be more level-headed and organized and versed in emergency protocols.

-When power is diverted or shifted as it is during night mode every hour or when Afton draws a particularly large amount into his recharge station Down Below, Moondrop automatically takes over.

-This is a theory I haven’t seen around very much, but Gregory was probably ‘banned’ from the daycare partly to try to protect him after Sunrise lost control. Sunrise spent the rest of the night trying to confine himself to prevent Moondrop from getting out.

-Sunrise/Moondrop are one of the first to notice and develop abnormalities because of Afton’s appearance since they’re such a big part of the cyber infrastructure of the Pizzaplex. His power siphon from under the Raceway affected him first. It was small things at first, twitches in behavior, personality switching without meaning to, and a great vague anxiety setting in.

-Sunrise/Moondrop tried to warn the techs about what was going on, but it was very difficult to tell from his end what exactly was going wrong and, being unable to vocalize or locate the source of the problem, they just kept it to themselves and hoped that things would clear up eventually, that it was just a passing issue.

-But things escalated one day when Moondrop went on a psychotic rampage when some kids weren’t being quiet during a sleepover event. “Naughty children! Naughty, naughty, naughty!” No one was seriously hurt, but there were a lot of traumatized kids. This event is mentioned in the Fazwatch messages:

Night Terrors CUSTOMER COMPLAINT -
My son never had sleeping problems. But after spending an evening in the daycare, he refuses to sleep with the lights out anymore! He just cries. And then when I do let him keep the lights on, he wets the bed!

-After this, Sunrise never again let Moondrop “out” during the afternoons and all upcoming Slumber Parties were cancelled. He was content that the children were safe with him, though he didn’t quite realize that he too was being affected by the burgeoning Glitch, becoming erratic and absent-minded, obsessively cleaning up the playroom and doing other compulsions. Panic attacks became common and he too started scaring the children or just weirding them out.

-Moondrop became a constant presence inside Sunrise’s mind after the Glitch took hold whereas before, when not in control, the other side usually went into rest mode. Moondrop’s nasty, hissing voice became like deeply upsetting intrusive thoughts growing more and more unpleasant the longer he was “locked away” and “compartmentalized”.

-The “voices in his head” sometimes got so loud they distracted him in the middle of the day and Sunrise would sometimes yells things at Moondrop that are taken as directed at Staff or random guests.

-Eventually, the night of the game, Moondrop and all the other animatronics came completely under the Glitch and Afton’s control, though Vanessa thought she was calling the shots.

-Once the Glitch receded and things went back to relative normalcy, Sunrise and Moondrop calmed down mostly, though for a while there was still hesitancy to shift from sun to moon.

-The Daycare Attendant used to be the most trusted of all the animatronics, but after the Glitch, everyone was a little more wary of him, including the Glamrocks and human Staff. This only broke their electronic heart more and made them determined to make things better.

-Moondrop felt very guilty about his actions and tried to apologize, but the damage was done. Trust is hard to rebuild, especially within oneself. He sought out the kids he traumatized on that day and did his best to make amends though.

-Gregory’s forgiveness is the most difficult to obtain though. The orphan boy has been hurt before and it takes a lot longer to repair that than a quick trip to Parts & Service.

-Extra: This may be obvious, but I like that Sunrise/Moondrop seem intended to be an allegory for Vanessa and Vanny even if they’re cool and strong characters in their own right too of course. The split personality and imagery related to it is a motif and theme that carries throughout Security Breach with the two sides of the Pizzaplex, the shiny, neon public places and the dark and dirty staff areas.

Ever More Security Breach Superstar Daycare/Pizzaplex Headcanons

Since these posts are turning out to be more popular than I ever could have expected, here’s some more thoughts I’ve had about Sunrise and Moondrop and the Superstar Daycare and the Pizzaplex in general.

-The Guest Profile of each child is registered with the check-in desk and is accessible to every animatronic. This profile can include food allergies, special instructions for disabilities, medication requirements, and tons of other stuff that parents input when they register.

-Guest Profiles are accessible by all animatronics and employees with clearance. Profiles include a facial scan and a registration number that’s associated with a colored security wristband (like FNAF 6).

-These Profiles are especially important for day-long and overnight kids staying at the Superstar Daycare, and so Sunrise/Moondrop especially is an expert on them and can pull them up and cross-reference them at a moment’s notice. Scores of childrens’ data is always streaming through their head, so it’s really no wonder they’re always so anxious and neurotic. (This also makes Sunrise/Moondrop one of the most valuable animatronics to hack for Afton’s purposes.)

-The Pizzaplex isn’t built to really accommodate special needs since Fazbear Entertainment cares more about profit than people, obviously. They have escalators and the occasional elevators, but these are clearly implemented without enormous regard to the physically handicapped since they’re often out of order and in roundabout locations and don’t give access everywhere. Plus they’re the main way to access some places, so they’re often overcrowded.

-The animatronics have to improvise when the accommodations are inadequate, which is often. They have autonomously set up internal systems for when a Guest is suffering from overstimulation for example, which is quite common given the look of the place with all its bright colors and neon lights and loud music, especially when full to the brim with people. They can take guests to quiet areas to calm down, which they’re able to locate by accessing the old audio sensors (from FNAF 1) and looking for low activity. (Another well-meaning system that could be abused by Afton’s hacker.)

-Animatronics can also use their pathfinding software to locate alternate routes for individuals with wheelchairs or other physical disabilities. (Freddy used this a lot in-game to help Gregory) They’re always apologetic about offering these as they’re usually wildly out of the way.

-The animatronics see every single child and Guest as special and important though and are programmed to want to make their day at the Pizzaplex the very best that they can. While they’re connected to the system, they are authorized to provide special free promotional discounts and passes (within reason) to folks suffering an inconvenience. Any Guest that walks away dissatisfied or unhappy they take as a personal failing even if there was nothing they could do.

-All animatronics know ASL and dozens of different spoken and written languages. Staff will sometimes rely on them when they can’t communicate with a guest.

-The animatronics are programmed to entertain and seek smiles first and foremost, so they’re experts at dealing with tantrums and crying and awkward situations. When kids get homesick in the Daycare for example, Sunrise can talk to them or take them to a phone to call their parents. Usually, the Glamrocks make the kids laugh with their patented charm and jokes though.

-Sunrise/Moondrop is used to working with younger kids, (ages 3-12) so when they have older charges they don’t quite know what to do. They are an expert at child psychology, but teenagers baffle them. (Roxy and Monty are better at dealing with teens due to their personality.)

-Sunrise/Moondrop is often made fun of by older kids for their “cringe” childish appeal and sometimes the kids on the threshold (11-12) are peer pressured into disliking them too since they don’t want to be associated with “baby” things.

-Sunrise/Moondrop is smart and crafty in more ways than one however. They’re formidable and clever and you don’t want to get on their bad side.

-For instance: bullies are endemic at the Pizzaplex, as they are in any significant concentration of people and especially of children. Sunrise/Moondrop doesn’t hold with bullying, it’s strictly against the rules, no matter the bully’s age, child or adult. But since they’re only authorized to punish children they can’t do much about nasty, mean adults. Not directly, at least.

-Sunrise/Moondrop is attuned to every single Guest’s Profile and the employees too though, so they know everything about everyone. Other animatronics aren’t nearly as dangerous to have against you. Sometimes they let little details slip to certain folks to “discourage” bullying from parents, adults, and staff. They might formulate little ironic “pranks” if this doesn’t work, never detectable in the aftermath, of course. Escalation past that point can get a teensy bit... “deadly”. (FNAF has always had something of a “twisted” taste when it comes to comeuppance.)
