Goblin Week 2023- Full Set

Here's all 7 of the goblins I posted this last week in a single post. Like I said on the first picture, these were done as warm-ups on my art streams at the beginning of last year. I've always loved inventing goblin characters, as anyone who's seen my vast collection of HeroForge goblins will know. I like to come up with characters and archetypes that goblins don't generally get to embody in popular media, giving depth and to this fantasy race that's often relegated to low-level fodder for the human heroes' death count.

This means goblins that are nice of course, but also goblins that are flawed, too caring, overly ambitious, booksmart and not streetsmart, hopelessly romantic, shy and awkward, a little too charming, and all other sorts.

Goblin Week 2023- #7

Better late than never, this is the 7th and final goblin of the set I'm posting for this year's Goblin Week.

This 'lil perm-haired fella has big dreams,:all his life he's dreamed of performing in the Royal Elvish Ballet. But he's always been told, behind elegantly tittering elvish hands, that he's too short; a shallow excuse from the elfish elite who more obviously won't have him because he's, quite simply, a goblin. He's trained long and hard and is as skilled and graceful as any elf, moreso than most. Maybe one day he'll have his chance in the spotlight, and some dancing gear that fit his petite goblin frame.

The fifth of my gobbos for this week. This guy is a mechanic and a hard-working one at that. He may seem like a grouch, but he's a softy under all that sweaty, gleaming green muscle.

Number four of my gobbos. This one is a very sleepy boy. He's tousled and groggy and droopy because it's way too early for him to be up, it's only, like 4 PM.

This is the third of my goblins this week. This one's a radical dude that loves to board at X-treme speeds. He may or may not get up to other rebellious activities that make the old folks grumble. He loves feeling the wind in his billowy, baggy shirt and the hair on his tail.

Goblin Week 2023- #1

This is the first of the goblins I'm sharing this January for the 11th annual Tumblr/Twitter Goblin Week. *fanfare*

I actually drew these fellas last year as warm-ups on my art streams, but I'm only getting the nerve to share them now as I have an excuse and all...

First up is a goblin scholar, or perhaps he's an accountant, either way, he's very dedicated to his work, though I hope he doesn't smudge his pretty penmanship too much with his cute gobbo nose.

ICARE Bande Annonce (2022) Film d'Animation

French Animated Movie, English Title: Icarus (2022)

I wish EVERYONE was talking about this movie. I can’t believe I just found out about it.

Translated summary (from IMDB):

“Icarus is the young apprentice of his father, the famous inventor Daedalus, in his sculpture workshop in Knossos. His life is turned upside down by the discovery of a mysterious boy with a bull's head who lives hidden in the Royal Palace. A secret friendship unites the two teenagers until King Minos locks up the "Monster" in the labyrinth, built by Daedalus. At the same time, Icarus loses his only friend and the confidence he had in his father. When Prince Theseus arrives in Crete to kill the Minotaur, Icarus is ready to do anything to save his childhood friend. Alas, the infernal machine is set in motion and the young dreamer's disillusion culminates in a tragic choice between darkness and light.”

It looks SO gorgeous and intense. The movie releases at the end of March in France, but no word on any plans for an English dub or USA release.
