Joel couldn’t remember the last time he had gotten an honestly good night’s rest. It seemed that every time his eyes closed, the perpetual fear would rise in his throat, it would attack his mind, and his body would conform to the dark demand of a nightmare. It would grab him, hold him in its clutches with razor-sharp teeth, never giving up.
His nightmares varied, but they were always most concerned with Sarah. He’d see her face, hold her cheeks in his hands as he admired the beauty that was his daughter. He’d pull her tight against his chest as he smelled her hair, engulfing the familiarness of his little girl.
Aww poor Joel 🥺 our sweet apocalypse man and his nightmares, glad that the reader was there for him, and while she will never replace Sarah it's good to have someone to be there for you. I loved this and it also broke my heart ❤️
