everyone who tries to explain the differences between bi, pan, ply, and omni ends up offending someone. they are missing the point. the goal isn't to have definitions that don't intersect and to be able to neatly sort people into categories based on their experiences. the definitions will always intersect and people's experiences will always escape definitions. the goal is to understand that anyone who identifies with one and not another has personal reasons to do so, and they are valid regardless. the goal is to realize that at the end of the day we're part of one community and many of our experiences overlap, while still respecting individual identities.

Happy pride month everyone! For the next 30 days- I’m going to celebrate every individual day by sharing my favourite members of that said community. Feel free to post your own personal favourites.

Day One- Gay Pride

My favourite openly gay men in media!

This beautiful English actor came out in 1988 at the age of 49, on a BBC program and has been active member of LGBTQI+ community since. Especially towards the advocation of our trans brothers and sisters.

The Australian singer come out on YouTube in 2013 at the age of 18. He has used his influence as a singer and an openly gay individual to inspiration the community through his music.

This American singer came out on Twitter by making a simple statement at the age of 20. Not only does he represent the LGBTQI+ but the black community as well. Within media right now, he has a powerful influence- I especially love his breaking of gender norms.

5 years of designing these tasty treats and it comes to an end today.

TW: animal death / animal neglect

I wanted to draw this comic for a long time, but I never knew how to approach this issue. In my childhood all my friends had budgies, all of them were put aside somewhere and left alone. Treated like “annoying” decoration. Don’t get a bird if you can’t meet its needs.

RAMEN NOODLE RECIPE

Spontaneously made ramen the other night for the first time, and it was too bomb not to share. Recipe as follows:

- cook around 100g dry ramen or soba noodles + drain and set aside

- in a large saucepan put 3 cups of water, 1tsp veg stock, some crushed garlic, 1tbsp tamari sauce, some chilli flakes (add more or less depending on how spicy you want it) and some crushed ginger. Bring to the boil.

- reduce heat a little (medium-high) and add pak choy stems to the water for 3 mins (I used a small pak choy)

- add pak choy leaves & spring onion to the water and reduce heat a little more (around medium-low) for 3 mins or until pak choy tender

- add cooked ramen/soba noodles and stir together for 3 mins

- whilst soup is cooking,  pan fry some tofu in tamari, 1tsp blackstrap molasses or coco sugar & some sesame seeds in a pan on the side.

- once everything’s done, pour noodle soup into a big bowl and add tofu on top. Enjoy!👌
