everyone in the 90s was hoarding star wars revival figures and spawn number ones and indivodually numbered but still mass produced tng action figures as though, as david walker put it, "anything other than actual scarcity" would make them rich someday. meanwhile the actual rare and expensive items now are the shit all the gen x speculators were ignoring bc it was dumb baby shit. you know what's valuable from 1995? power rangers, bc all those children are adults now. this is why the power rangers revival + film followed ten years on from the transformers revival + film. next is gonna be, like, idek, b in 05 i was ignoring it.
