holy crud it doesn't fail. Last night this was 2 dollars and now it's 7. Well, at least "Les Miserables, a play featuring Michelle and Marie" has stayed the same reasonable price of a piece of lint and one skittle.
And this is a sample from "Les Miserables, the Play". Reading this, they probably should have called it, "Les Miserables, the passive-aggressive version". "We hope you like it as much as the musical. BUT YOU WON'T, YOU ASSHOLES. You shallow jerks like things with budgets and sets and not having random made-up characters inserted into your adaptations of Les Miserables!"

This book is an abridged Americanized version of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables - Volume V Jean Valjean. It replaces French names and places with American names and places. It moves the time frame of the original book forward some 30 years and replaces the June Rebellion of 1832 with the Riot of Baltimore in 1861.

I’m curious about this in a trainwreck kind of way, especially since it seems to be an evangelical Christian thing… But it’s now saying $9.80 for the Kindle version, and my curiosity is not worth $9.80.
Agreed. What in the blue hell? Did they realize there was a SLIGHT interest in this and then jack up the price? Yeah, no.

Oh, I wonder what exactly ‘adapted for today’s readers’ (implying that Hugo’s contemporaries were by nature prepared for all the useful information he has to dispense about life, the universe, and everything …) does mean here! I recall a friend reading an Adapted For Today version following the 1998 film, which turned out to be primarily a reprint of a heavily abridged 1933 German translation (yes really). "The revolutionary spirit in Marius", bless.
If you are like me and have wanted to read this Very Important Book but have been scared off by its behemoth size then you are in luck. This version, offered by Barbour Publishing’s Shiloh Run Press, is not only condensed but translated especially for today’s American reader.
Oh. American readers.
A classic, of course, but teaches again, there is good in all, a “bad ” person can turn around and be a shining example of humbanity if we let them. The flip some people who think they are good in their benevolence can be bad when the getting gets tough when the way life as they see it is not up to their expectations. A good novel to be read by all, to learn to appreciate the progress we have made in our America, but how much more we need to go. (— the amazingly named Debbie Summerskill)

Is the blowing wind blocking his view of her face? She is not smiling at all! But alas for him, the new cover is only for the kindle edition, which I am thinking about biting the bullet and buying because it's only 99 cents.

Bellarion by Rafael Sabatini is on kindle now on amazon (us version). I like to think I had something to do with it lol as I requested it on kindle a couple of months ago and now it has popped up, but that got me to thinking, if a customer requested something on kindle and it became available, wouldn't you send them an e-mail about it? God knows amazon doesn't stint on sending me e-mails about all other kinds of shit:

While I can't say I hate it or anything, I'm not a huge fan of the EU, so I'm glad about this decision.

Excuse me, Vampire Academy is the Greatest Love Story of Our Times. That’s what the … snow … flake? That’s a snowfake, right? represents. Love in the vampire academy.

Obviously, the snowflake signifies that no love story involving one or several vampire/s is like any other love story involving one or several vampire/s. If studied at the atomic level. … I now had to look up Dark Lover to find out if that also concerned vampires, and a)of course it does and b)all the characters have names like Zsadist, son of Aghony. This is … not what I expected from the title. (It is good to know somebody’s job is Keeper of the Vampire Archives.)
that reminds me of the Worst Book (s) I read last year (I foolishly got the the trilogy omnibus)* in which the main characters were named Jaenelle Angelline, Daemon Sadiablo and his sons Saetan Sadiablo, and Lucivar. Compared to Zsadist, Son of Aghony I think those names might actually be subtle though, heh.
