you weren’t sure what you had done in your past life to have a boyfriend as caring as hyunjin. you led out across a picnic blanket, he had spread out to surprise you. the food he had also put out, now devoured, meaning you were now left basking in the sunlight and his presence— which was basically the same thing.

sheltering your eyes from the sun, you turn your head slightly to look at him. face down in his sketch book, he looks ethereal, like he really was Aphrodite’s son.

you weren’t even sure how long you had been looking at him until he spoke. “you’re staring.”

“i’m admiring,” you smile. “there’s a difference.”

“really? and what’s that?” he asks looking up.

you pull yourself up so you’re sitting and move closer to him. you can’t help but lean in closer, the urge to kiss him always there. “i get to count myself lucky that i get to come home to you every day.”

gasping, he pushing you away from him and clutches his sketch book tight to his chest.

“don’t go trying to use your smooth words on me! only i can be the smooth one!”

giggling, you jump and let yourself fall onto him as you wrap your arms around his neck. “just say you love me already.”

he finally placed the sketchbook down and his arms wrap around your waist.

“i love you.”

you smile, “i love you too.”

you couldn’t tell who kisses who first, but you didn’t care. not when it meant you got to kiss him everyday for the rest of your life.
