Thank you so much to the wonderful @haztobegood @disgruntledkittenface and @littleroverlouis for tagging me to share five of my fics that I really like (and bless whomever first framed this game like this and not strictly as favorites - my pathological indecision appreciates you!) Like many others have said, this could be five completely different fics on another day, but on this one, these are the five that drew out the purest urge to pinch their cheeks lovingly as I scanned through my list of works on ao3. 

Nice Boys Sometimes Kiss Like That (Harry & David Rose)

My rarest of rare pairs maybe? Smooshing together two of my beloveds was such a treat. I just really love this Harry - maybe because he’s closest to how I think/hope Harry is in real life. And I'm really proud of how I captured David Rose and managed to sprinkle in Schitt’s Creek tidbits. Plus, writing a non-romantic pairing that still includes a kiss was definitely a new thing for me. This bb has...so few hits and kudos LOL but that was completely expected and I’m just glad there are a few people out there who live in this intersection with me (or were at least willing to give it a whirl). 

Knock Knockers! Who’s There? (Larry)

The way the @motorboatrryfest2021 took over my entire damn mind was a complete surprise and a total joy and the five fics I ended up churning out for it are some of my absolute favorites and I’m absurdly proud of every single one. This was the first/only I had planned to write and I just love the mix of humor and fluff and smut. It feels like a good representation of me and my favorite fic writing vibe.

doG...and his friend (Larry)

This fic is so dumb and I can’t believe I had this idea (I absolutely can), let alone actually delivered on it. It’s just pure fun and I’m so grateful my brain lets me write this kind of nonsense sometimes. That it was the final week of last year’s wordplay and followed three weeks of me writing wall-to-wall smut makes me love it even more.

It’s Probably Because I’ve Got a Big Lesbian Crush on You (Girl!Larry)

I had a blast writing this and re-reading it just makes me happy.

We Can Find a Place to Feel Good (Larry)

This ‘verse and these sweet boys are so precious to me. I absolutely love this song and I feel like I managed to weave its essence into this story in exactly the way I had hoped to.

Snippet Sunday

Lovely and talented @mercurial-madhouse and @cyantific tagged me to share a snippet in the past few days/week (and beautiful souls @a-brighter-yellow @beelou @haztobegood @hazzabeeforlou and @homosociallyyours have also at some point in the past month or two while my brain has been a writing wasteland). 

So here’s a bit from my Harry & David Rose @harryandmenfest fic, “Nice Boys Sometimes Kiss Like That,” which posts March 18th! 

“So he didn’t then?”

The transition of Harry’s eyebrow from furrowed to arched really shouldn’t affect David like it does.

“Um, didn’t what?”

“Didn’t kiss you the way you want to be kissed? The way you like it?”

David thinks he might be ill. Harry’s eye contact is too constant. Too open. His question too loaded. And yet the tone in his voice had been exactly the same as if he’d asked if Sebastien had ever taken David to the coffee shop around the corner. 

“Um, not exactly, no.” 

“So how do you? Like to be kissed, I mean.” Again, Harry asks the question with such a casual air that David wonders if he’s actually inquiring about David’s favorite brand of sparkling water and David’s brain is just fucking with him. 

Even having only experienced Harry Styles for less than an hour, David’s pretty sure he’s hearing him right, though. That he’s the kind of person to breezily ask a near stranger about his romantic proclivities. And the ridiculous thing is, David really wants to answer him earnestly. But he also knows he’s absolutely going to let the sick feeling in his stomach win out and he’s not going to say a thing. 

Not something that gives away anything even remotely personal, anyway. 

So he does what’s always been most comfortable for him. 

“Honestly, who can even remember? The only soft warmth these lips have experienced in the last year is courtesy of Auntie Anne.”

Harry looks utterly confused, and David almost feels bad, but he’s too busy being relieved by his dodge.

“You know...the mall pretzels?”

“Oh,” Harry replies, looking less confused but a bit disappointed. And David is even less equipped to deal with a disappointed Harry than an inquisitive one, so he barrels on.
