#‎WomenBetrayed‬ is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of. Planned Parenthood has ALWAYS been for women. They sell baby parts? Okay, let me fill you in on a little information: Some women, when they go in for an abortion (informational tidbit: only 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services are abortions), will sign a release to give their aborted fetus/zygote to science for stem cell research. The mother is usually compensated in some way. The “parts” are not “sold,” but rather they have been willfully given by the donor. The pro-lifers here are just looking for something to complain about now. Planned Parenthood also does screenings for breast cancer, ovarian cancer, testicular cancer, prostate cancer, diabetes, they do regular check-ups, they have affordable birth control, they have hormones for women going through menopause or transgender women who need to transition. If it wasn’t for Planned Parenthood, my girlfriend wouldn’t have her hormones to aid in her transition. Not a lot of PPs do it, but luckily, one within two hours of us does it. Planned Parenthood offers sex education for teenagers and young adults who might not get all the information they need through textbooks or whose parents might not answer their questions. It keeps them informed and out of the dark. It’s affordable and accessible health care for those who need it, and people are constantly rallying against it and trying to defund it because of their own stupid agendas.

I want to word this as well as I possibly can so as to not offend anyone, though knowing the tumblr community, it might.

Let’s start with the topic of gay marriage:

Members of the LGBT community (such as myself - I am a pansexual and therefore am considered LGBT+) are no different from heterosexual members of society aside from the fact that they have different love interests. And I understand that people will quote Leviticus 20:13 (don’t lie with another man blah blah blah) but Leviticus also banned shellfish and etc. So why pick and choose? Also, people are celebrating the fact that members of the LGBT community are coming out because they are feeling much more safe than they did 50 years ago, when it was written in the DSM that homosexuality was a mental disorder. You can have your beliefs but you should also accept that times are changing.

Now onto the topic of abortion:

It’s fine to be pro-life. Everyone has their own choices. But I wouldn’t want that enforced onto me. See, there’s the regular pro-lifers, as I see it, who are just against abortion in itself because they don’t want to take away potential life (and that’s fine), and then there’s the radical pro-lifers, who burn down abortion clinics, protest outside of them, and make the mothers who don’t want to keep those babies feel terrible and guilt them into making a decision they don’t want to. Being pro-choice DOESN’T mean we run around screaming “HEY GET AN ABORTION!” It just simply means that if the time ever comes, which most of us hope it never will, we will have that option.

I don’t think you’re a judgmental Christian based on your beliefs. I think that you just need to look at it from a different standpoint and understand where others are coming from.
