This is like trying to reason with a wall. I said that everyone can have struggles and deal with prejudice, don’t know where you get these translations, because you would certainly be fired if you were an actual translator. The point I’m trying to make to you is that you’re not special. You aren’t the only people to ever have to deal with somebody being an asshole, and I’m not even being an asshole, I’m starting to get a little bit frustrated but I didn’t start out that way until you basically threw a temper tantrum. Now I’m only really responding back to you for the entertainment my followers, no other reason really.

You’re right. Jews aren’t special. Everybody has to deal with assholes. Many people have to deal with oppression. The thing is, each form of oppression has a unique function in society and history. So, yes, we are not special. We, like every other oppressed group face a form of oppression unique to our group. We are not special. Just like every other oppressed group, we have a unique name to define the unique form of oppression we deal with. By having a name for our form of oppression we are not trying to be special snowflakes, nor are we trying play the oppression olympics. We are quite aware that we aren’t special. There are tons of oppressed groups in the world all facing unique forms of oppression with unique names. 

So, why should Jews be able to define what antisemitism is? Because they are the ones experiencing antisemitism. Just like gay and lesbian people get to define what homophobia is. Just like Black people get to define what anti-blackness is. Just like every oppressed group gets to define what the specific form of oppression they are facing is. They experience it. They define it. We are not special. We are simply doing what every other oppressed group does.

And you know what? People who doubt what we have to say about our oppression aren’t special either. People don’t believe tons of oppressed groups about what they have to say about their oppression. By doubting oppressed groups people are only filling an all too common role in society that helps to keep entire groups oppressed. 

We’re not special, people who doubt what we have to say about our oppression aren’t special, and the fact that different types of oppression are unique due to unique historical circumstances and societal function isn’t anything special. 

Nothing is special. 

I’m sorry friend, but people in Western countries are not oppressed. The Western democracy gives people a unique ability to make something of themselves. therefore, though there are disadvantages that an individual might face ( such as low socioeconomic status and disability as well as a few other things you can’t control) what you become in life is entirely dependent on you, you didn’t not get that thing you wanted in life because of your race, sex, ethnicity, excetera. The reason that I get so annoyed with social justice and the constant want to redefine words to mean different things all the time, is because now we have people that are using racism sexism homophobia and other things as a crutch or an excuse to not have to take responsibility for their own life. There are circumstances in life that you can’t control, sometimes they disadvantage you, but that is not oppression! Oppression is being living in a Communist/socialist dictatorship or a theocracy. And yeah, you’re probably going to run into a few anti-semites, or people that dislike you for your sexual orientation or something else you can’t control, but everyone runs into those things! Anyone can be bigoted and hateful, anyone can run into bigotry and Hate, but you’re not dealing with that on a systemic level, you might run into a really ignorant person that doesn’t like you because you’re cute, I might run into an ignorant person that doesn’t like me for being Native American, but that’s just an individual and everyone deals with assholes. What I’m trying to say here is, if you were oppressed, you wouldn’t have the opportunities or quality of life that you have now. Neither was I, I don’t know you and maybe you have some other disadvantages to contend with, just like I do, but you have the ability to make something of yourself and that means that you’re not oppressed.

Due to the amount of terrorist attacks that have gone on over the past few months, many governments have started trying to keep the terror attacks from becoming the normal media circus that they usually are, and they don’t want people to see Islam (the motive behind most global terror) as the culprit for the rising numbers of terror attacks in the West. Why? Because they don’t want people to see American Muslims or Muslim migrants anywhere else as possible terrorists and they don’t want people to object to bringing more in. It’s no excuse for censoring information like that, but it sure is a possible motive. Do you understands now? Or should I explain it to you like you’re five years old?

There are tons of statistics and anecdotes showing otherwise. Example: identical resumes with different names producing vastly different response rates. Before I got on Tumblr and started digging into things, I too thought those were problems only in other countries. I thought America was pretty much a balanced playing field. It was easy to think that when I am white, male, middle class, heterosexual etc.

Oops sorry to go off on a tangent. Basically, Jewish people being attacked for being Jewish is antisemitic. And the Jews get to define it because they are the ones being oppressed. Just like white people don’t get to define racsism.

Secondly, I highly doubt that CNN actually thought that. CNN tends to lean more toward the left and the left is pretty obsessed with protecting Muslims right now. And do you want to explain why I only heard of the last few Terror attacks that have happened over the past few months, online despite watching the news on several networks all the time? I’m pretty sure they’re trying to avoid that shit. I also doubt the validity of the study in which they were looking at the resumes, because most all the studies produced by the social sciences cannot be reproduced, less than half actually can be reproduced with the vast majority of them being significantly questionable.

This is coming from a disabled, lower classish, probably ace female Sioux Indian who finds the sjw view of me insulting. I have just as much of a chance as you and I don’t like the push for special treatment here. I mean, I know my disability and class might make things a bit more difficult, but I have just as much of a chance as anyone else who wants to work for it.

Also, @scrumptiousangst. I've experienced plenty of bigotry on an individual level, jsyn. Also, White people can experience racism and have just as much of a right to define it as anyone else. But since you don't think you are allowed to define it, I will do it for ya! racism : poor treatment of or violence against people because of their race : the belief that some races of people are better than others. Right from Webster dictionary, just for you. By definition, white people can deal with racism to and absolutely do, I could show you plenty. I think I’ve answered an ask like these two before, but I’ll go ahead and give a short answer here again.

1.) Listen to POC, and don’t be defensive if they say that you are being racist/contributing to white supremacy, take their word for it and analyze your behavior.

2.) Call out other white people. White people are immune to having their critiques of white supremacy dismissed as “pulling the race card”

3.) Don’t have a superior attitude. You are a white person as well, and one of the biggest barriers to the dismantling of white supremacy imo is white people who carry prejudiced notions, but who refuse to see themselves as racist because at least they aren’t as racist as say, the KKK or Donald Trump.

Do you have any proof of the "fact" that all white are racist? You aren't in their heads, so what gives you the right to tell them what they think? Is it not racist to assume all of one race is racist? How would you feel if you were in that position?

As a disadvantaged white person, we definitely exist. We are less disadvantaged, to a small extent, but not really. We matter too.

As another disadvantaged White person, I understand that we are less disadvantaged per capita, (that’s what you meant, right?) but that doesn’t make our struggles less real, or difficult, and it shouldn’t make us less of people. I appreciate the fact that someone else has the guts to post this stuff, as it cannot be ignored.
