Wheels' Trashfire

@typical-atheist-scumbag / typical-atheist-scumbag.tumblr.com

Most people call me "Wheels." We're living in the circus George Carlin was talking about.

Yeah. It’s called comorbidity and has been a valid statistic for measuring conditions that cause death through interaction with another condition literally forever.

The point is that without Covid entering the fray, they wouldn’t be dead right now. Which means Covid killed them, even if it did so through interaction. So yes, they did die from Covid-19; OP just apparently doesn’t know how medical reporting works.

This is about what was listed on their death certificate - it’s about differentiating who happened to have COVID and died from heart failure and who actually died because they got COVID. Just because someone had COVID when they died doesn’t mean it caused their death.

Counting these deaths accurately is important because we’re basing policy on them. If the data doesn’t differentiate between the two, we need better data.

Also comorbidity refers to having two conditions at the same time, not necessarily dying from either. Comortality refers to someone dying of multiple causes.

The woman is 21.  Imagine that.  That poor boy is going to be scarred for life.  There is never an excuse to bully a child.  NEVER.

I'm not a trump guy or an anyone guy for that matter, but what possess someone to go bully a kid? Who cares that they, a grown ass adult don't like the hat the kid's wearing?

I know this bot just reposts from /r/whitePeopleTwitter, but what about this is ‘white’?

The actual New Scientist article is a lot more ambiguous.

And here’s another article, also from NS.

I don’t think “people feel better when you give them free money with no strings attached and tell them they can’t get other benefits” is actually groundbreaking research.

Also, “doesn’t disincentivize working” is not the same as “actually incentivizes working”.

> Mr Simanainen says that while some individuals found work, they were no more likely to do so than a control group of people who weren’t given the money. They are still trying to work out exactly why this is, for the final report that will be published in 2020.

Not to mention the assumption that what “worked” in Finland will automatically work everywhere else. Or even that this is economically feasible.

My favourite conclusion, which I don’t see listed here but maybe that’s because it was brought up shortly after the program ended, people trusted the government more.

Which honestly when I read the research paper my eyes started to gloss over, by the end of it I was terribly annoyed that they had used as many words as they had when I could have gotten the point out in 2 words instead of 2 pages.

Bribery Works

Though they don’t take into account what happens when all of a sudden the bribe is no longer big enough.

Which is going to wind up being the defining problem anyone that tries to set this up on a national scale is going to have deal with.

This concept is ultimately about developing a rationing system for when the dried up husk of the current system falls away. Wait and see.

Yup, they're in the process of destroying the "old system" now. Here's a taste of what they want to replace it with. (From WEForum) this is what they want within the next 10 years and they're getting it!

Anonymous asked:

You have white privilege. Given your account of your life you have white privilege because you are ALIVE and not ACTUALLY MURDERED BY THE POLICE. Your individual experience of life doesn’t negate the fact that every system in the world prefers you and your White Skin and given the fact that you are White it’s no god damn surprise you have no idea what you’re talking about

I was going to tell the whole story about how I (a disabled person) ended up getting abducted while trying to escape abusers. Then having to convince a guy with a knife and quickly escalating behavior he'd be better off calling the police. I was going to talk about how despite my situation putting me in grave danger before that, no one cares and they typically take the side of my abusers. This wasn't even the first time I had to think my way out of a potentially life threatening situation.

No has ever helped me because I was white. I've never gotten preferential treatment in any way. You don't know that those cops would have treated me any better or worse due to my race. I was treated like property, police and social services took the side of my abusers and it was even implied by social services that I may not have full mental capacity despite therapists and others believing the opposite. Right now I'm going working on dealing with legal stuff to make sure no one can argue that I need a guardian or anyone else to control me because guess what? I'm still in the situation I was trying to escape from when all of this happened almost a year ago. Oh and the guy who assaulted me, abducted me, and did all this crazy shit? He's still out there with no charges or anything and even harassed me for a few months afterwards. I didn't even get to choose whether I wanted to pursue "justice".I faced all the punishment, he faced none. Tell me what about that says privilege. How is the way those police treated me by totally dismissing me when I desperately tried to explain that I was in this situation because I was fearing for my life at home and am now fearing for my life here any better? They treated me like I had no mental capacity at all, and stripped me of agency. I've spent almost a year living with that and it's rare to have a day go by where I don't wish I didn't live at all. By the way, this wasn't my last bad experience with police, but that's another story for another day.

Again I ask you, where is my privilege? You don't know much about my life at all. You don't know how much racism I've actually experienced.

The only racist here is YOU!! You have so much vitriol and hatred for white people that all you have to say when someone of that color shares a hardship is "LOL, fuck you Whitey! You've never really suffered!!" Especially when that hardship goes against your racist narrative!

I hope someday you look back and realize just how disgusting and hateful you're being right now. This is textbook racism and I'm getting pretty tired of dealing with it. I have no words for how awful this message is. Please stay out my inbox.

If you notice me reblogging

  • a repost
  • stolen art
  • false information
  • etc.

please let me know, you’re not rude or annoying and I actually do give a fuck and I will correct my mistake, thank you

Also, if you notice me reblogging things from

  • anti-sj blogs
  • TERFs or SWERFs
  • anti-feminist/MRAs
  • other shitty people

please give me a heads up. I’ll never get angry at you for letting me know and I’ll actually be really glad that you kept me from giving some awful person more visibility.

Ok, I was going to reblog this for the top part because, I'm human and I like to know when/where I screw up.

However, I don't see a problem with being anti feminist/anti sj. Feminists and SJWS aren't morally better than the people who oppose them and there are shitheads on both sides. Someone else's right to be anti sj MRA or anything else is just as important as your right to support SJ, feminists, etc. People aren't bad for disagreeing with you.

I have followers from all sides and I encourage disagreement. I don't consider myself SJW or anti SJW for a host of reasons, but someone else who does wear one of those labels is not morally superior or inferior to me.

Brooo!

Apparently I'm on another bigot blocklist! Check out all the people they just haphazardly shove together!

Apparently all of these different groups of people are exactly the same. According to the person I got the screenshot from, @pointlesstrashyexistence, ( the person who made this trashfire of a list) doesn't even bother to say who's who or why they're on the list!

Good thing someone tagged me somewhere and told me because Trashy decided to tag me on their list and block me right after!

Bitch move, Trashy bitch move .

I probably shouldn't even bother with this bullshit right now, but whatever.

Shaun King (AKA Talcum X) wants all white depictions of Jesus removed and 1/3rd of black Americans (out of the 100 polled) agree.

Man… what could possibly go wrong? I mean, why would people be mad about the removal of images of their messiah made to look like them? I guess we can start removing all the Asian depictions of Jesus from respective countries next? Surely that is some kind of supremacy as well?

Gotta get rid of black Jesus too since that’s also an inaccurate description but try getting Talcum X to go for that. Dude had one shining moment of lucid thought when it finally dawned on him who had been running the cities with the worst problems for the black community, that must have sapped all possible intelligent thoughts from his brain for the next 12 years.

We’ll give them 39 lashes.

Hey, let's just get rid of Jesus in general!! Hell, why stop at jesus? People around the world having beliefs and cultures is offensive! We all need to be good global citizens pick one belief system to have and bully everyone that thinks outside of our little box!

YOU REALIZE ALMOST NOTHING IS EVER ABOUT US AND THAT’S WHY WE’RE MAD, RIGHT?

Actually disabled people are thoroughly reresented. It’s just, similarly to how a black character can just happen to be black, a disabled character can just happen to be disabled. The focus doesnt have to be on them being disabled. Otherwise you would have a bunch of Joe Swansons.

Missing limbs, limbs that dont really work, sensory disabilities, hereditary disabilities, mental disorders, etc. actually pretty common.

Even lighter disabilities and common ones seen in the elderly are actually well represented. It is just that we are so used to it that we tend not to notice. Which is actually a quality of proper representation.

Characters with addictions, characters born with disabilities, characters who become mentally unstable, even disabled characters who are shown to be just as terrible as able bodied people.

I can keep going.

Remember: “disabled” doesnt mean obvious physical disabilities. The number is 20% because that includes ones that you would barely notice. That includes the issues elderly people get. That includes mental disabilities. That includes ones you arent birn with. That includes disabilities from war or abuse. And when you include those, you start to notice that there actually was a lot more representation and diversity than you originally assumed.

Don’t forget Lan Fan.

Like 10% of that show was people with physical disabilities.

(Bradley being represented as someone who lost his eye, which we only later find out is a lie near the end)

You known what? Some more. Dozo.

Would be nice to see more character with mental illnesses other than addiction or PTSD. Especially men with depression. Especially autistic characters. Most representation is physical disabilties or PTSD or addiction.

If there are more (especially mildly autistic) autistic characters that are canonically autistic can people please tell me?

Dozo

There are plenty. But mild autism isnt as interesting for television as more severe autism so you will find less of that. Similar to how youll find more representation of people with broken arms compared to people with broken fingers.

Most show obvious signs of autism but dont outright say it. Like how Eeyore is obviously depressed but no one calls it depression.

Just say the word and i can add dozens more to this list

Not seeing Jerry “Hands” Espenson from Boston Legal up here.

Christian Clemson I thought did a marvelous job portraying someone with asperger’s the show writers played a lot off for laughs but they also really developed the character and showed him as a valued and highly respected member of the firm.

This is a great post and a great showcase of disability in media but did y'all really need to include Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy. Like. That ain’t exactly positive representation.

I'm disabled and I really don't mind the occasional "asshole who happens to be disabled' character. It kinda humanizes us more in a way. Disabled people are just people, and just like any other group, not all disabled people are good people.

Hope that makes sense.

“can’t shake the devil’s hand and say you’re only kidding” is the most concise and powerful dismissal of people who are “jokingly” racist and i can’t believe it’s from a They Might Be Giants song

I disagree with this sentiment a good way to deal with serious issues is to laugh at them. I don't get the logic here. Do you mean everything you say in jest? If I make a joke about Karens, does that mean I hate Middle aged white women?Nothing should be off limits and I find that the earlier you learn to laugh at yourself and everything around you, the better off you'll be.

I fit into several minority groups and I used to be sensitive about certain things surrounding that when I was younger. Once I started using humor to cope and inviting others to laugh with me, I started to get a thicker skin and many of those sensitive subjects became no big deal. The actual bigots and bullies who used those things against me, now have hardly anything they can use. My friends feel closer to me because they know they don't have to walk on eggshells. The conversation and by extension, your connection with others is much more open when people know you can handle a few jokes.

I don't personally find racist jokes funny, I dislike them no matter what race they're about, but I don't think everyone who jokes about people of whatever race hate those people or think less of them. There are racists that hide it in humor, but it's ridiculous to say that's true for everyone. I think there's a lot of unity in humor and we miss out on it when we say certain types are off limits.

I also find that a lot of people who say we should not be joking about certain groups of people are the same ones who shit on other "approved"groups of people mercilessly. If this is something you really believe, you should apply it to everyone. Everyone needs to be held to an equal standard if we're gonna have one.

In other words, if I see you reblogging this and agreeing with it, I better not see any white people jokes on your blog. Otherwise you're a racist, and a hypocrite on top of that.

The classism in “woke” activists who learned about inequality in college instead of through real world experience is real, and is the most frustrating part of trying to actually advocate and educate in the real world.

HOLY FUCK YES.

Plus, hypocritically enough, if you are white and from a working-class background or just a poor background in academia, you are fucked- often by the same people who tell you you need to overthrow the bourgeoisie. There’s a really uncomfortable current there- and also in social justice activism in general- that all white people are at least upper-middle class, and the only “proper” poor people are black or Latino. (Because what else are they good for other than being maids, janitors, pool cleaners, and nannies?)

I don't know how it's possible to have so little self awareness that you're bigoted against everyone and believe you're the one saving people from the bigots, but some social justice advocates are really making that work.

In Japan, you can be indefinitely detained by the police and “interrogated” til you sign a confession, and have this coercive measure hold up in court as evidence. There is a reason that Japan has something close to 100% conviction rate for crimes.

In South Korea, the military and the police both have been used, since 1945, to put down those protesting their government’s actions, mostly targeted towards leftists and those who wanted USAmerican-installed/backed regimes to be more democratic. Even as recently as 2015, the police fired water cannons with enough force to kill a pro-democracy activist.

In India, the police happily abuses the indigenous people of Kashmir. This has been an issue for forever, but the recent events in Kashmir (Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act of 2019) has magnified the brutality greatly.

In Canada, the police is brutal against the indigenous folks, as well as other people of color. Starlight Tour is just the tip of the iceberg for how the indigenous folks are treated by the police.

In Australia, the indigenous folks are treated much in the same way as Canada, with the police as a state tool for brutalizing and even displacing indigenous folks.

In Chile, during the recent riots over austerity, the police did much of the same things as the USAmerican police: meting out state violence gleefully, faking violence (such as setting their own patrol cars on fire and damaging private properties) and blaming the people for their own violence. This is just the tip of the iceberg also: the violence towards the Chilean people by the police goes very, very deep.

In Sweden, the mounted police trample protestors (much like in Houston, Texas the weekend of May 30th, 2020), not to mention the standard barbarism you see in European nations.

In France, the protests against pushing back retirement ages for a ton of people (including those whose bodies literally cannot take the work past the current age of retirement, like ballet dancers) saw the Police brutalizing the public, intensifying the already massive riots.

This isn’t even getting into the weeds with the Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, and other European countries’ police forces’ barbaric treatment towards those who come from its former imperial/colonial holdings.

Police is never your friend, anywhere in the world.

This sounds more like the government isnt your friend, not the police.

Agreed, though it can be both. The police are a branch of the state.

It doesn't matter what color you are, the government is never your friend. Their enforcers are never your friend . I think they push a lot of division (especially by race) so that we don't realize and come together.
