What is the worst thing someone could call you related to your disability?

I really don’t have a problem with any word like cripple, handicapped, disabled, bipolar, manic depressive, etc. It’s all depends on the tone and way someone uses it.

“Cripples shouldn’t be allowed here. They just get in the damn way” is mean compared to..

A friend saying “Oh come over here you little cripple haha”

It works the same way for “nigga” or “fag”. Depending on the black or gay person, there’s different ways that they accept saying or having friends say those words around them. Personally I wouldn’t say either even around my black or gay family members. But there’s ways people are okay with it and know that the person doesn’t mean any harm or disrespect to them. Tone and intent are what carry the hurt behind them. So basically just always know for sure before you say something. It’s better to not say it 99% of the time though lol

Anyways.. I was wondering what words hurt my fellow disabled people? The only one that I absolutely hate and hurts me even when I hear someone on the tv referenced with it is: invalid. Do I even need to explain? Lol it almost literally means not valid. Or when someone uses bipolar to describe the way someone is acting. That one isn’t as bad but just annoying.

None of those bother me, invalid kinda annoys me, same with spastic, but like you said, depends on the tone and intent.
