Most people call me "Wheels." We're living in the circus George Carlin was talking about.

compare.

Real economic problems that affect millions of lives in the short and long term vs.a mostly drummed up issue that the media likes scaring people about.

It's all about causing more racial division. Police brutality is real, and police militarization is a problem, but they're only focusing on one of many groups it happens to. It happens to everyone. The Government and the media are benefiting by keeping us at each other's throats.

I do think a lot of it's drummed up but it is a real problem.

In Japan, you can be indefinitely detained by the police and “interrogated” til you sign a confession, and have this coercive measure hold up in court as evidence. There is a reason that Japan has something close to 100% conviction rate for crimes.

In South Korea, the military and the police both have been used, since 1945, to put down those protesting their government’s actions, mostly targeted towards leftists and those who wanted USAmerican-installed/backed regimes to be more democratic. Even as recently as 2015, the police fired water cannons with enough force to kill a pro-democracy activist.

In India, the police happily abuses the indigenous people of Kashmir. This has been an issue for forever, but the recent events in Kashmir (Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act of 2019) has magnified the brutality greatly.

In Canada, the police is brutal against the indigenous folks, as well as other people of color. Starlight Tour is just the tip of the iceberg for how the indigenous folks are treated by the police.

In Australia, the indigenous folks are treated much in the same way as Canada, with the police as a state tool for brutalizing and even displacing indigenous folks.

In Chile, during the recent riots over austerity, the police did much of the same things as the USAmerican police: meting out state violence gleefully, faking violence (such as setting their own patrol cars on fire and damaging private properties) and blaming the people for their own violence. This is just the tip of the iceberg also: the violence towards the Chilean people by the police goes very, very deep.

In Sweden, the mounted police trample protestors (much like in Houston, Texas the weekend of May 30th, 2020), not to mention the standard barbarism you see in European nations.

In France, the protests against pushing back retirement ages for a ton of people (including those whose bodies literally cannot take the work past the current age of retirement, like ballet dancers) saw the Police brutalizing the public, intensifying the already massive riots.

This isn’t even getting into the weeds with the Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, and other European countries’ police forces’ barbaric treatment towards those who come from its former imperial/colonial holdings.

Police is never your friend, anywhere in the world.

This sounds more like the government isnt your friend, not the police.

Agreed, though it can be both. The police are a branch of the state.

It doesn't matter what color you are, the government is never your friend. Their enforcers are never your friend . I think they push a lot of division (especially by race) so that we don't realize and come together.

Wait, so we had SYSTEMIC RACISM in government during Obama/Biden’s 8 years and they did NOTHING? During his first two years, Obama held super majorities in Congress and did NOTHING? They controlled Federal Judgeships and did NOTHING? Why was systemic racism NOT ended by Obama?

slartbarfast

Or when a Minneapolis cop shot this woman as she peaceably tried to make a police report:

Maybe the problem isn’t anti-black “systemic racism” …

… maybe it’s just that Democrat controlled (for decades) Minneapolis is a violent hell hole for everybody.

Obama didn’t call any of it systemic racism and he was fine with it just like the Clinton’s who armed and expanded the policeforce and aggressive policing policy

I'm gonna get shit for this, but I don't see police brutality as a racial issue. I see it as "US police are far too militarized, have too much powerand they know they can get away with shit" issue .

I also strongly believe that mainstream and many popular media outlets like to push division and keep average joes and janes at each other's throats. I think that's why we almost never hear about white police brutality victims! It's not because police are always racist or the media only cares about black people, its textbook divide and conquer!Race isn't the only thing they use to divide us all, but it's probably the most effective. I think the government and their mouthpieces may even be trying to incite another civil war and tear everything apart!!

We cannot let this happen!!

Now more than ever, we need to unite and stand against them, its not about black or white, it's about citizens and corrupt powers who want absolute control!! I don't care what color you are, the future they want to create is not going to be good for you!

You don't have to believe me or agree with everything I said, but I'd be more than happy to provide souces and information. No matter what, I'd like foster productive discussion.

The far-right march had started near Schrunk Plaza in the city centre, where the rightwing group had held a rally, led by the Patriot Prayer founder and Republican US Senate candidate Joey Gibson.
As soon as the group left the plaza, they clashed with anti-fascists who had been waiting across a heavily barricaded street nearby.
As the two groups came to blows, Department of Homeland Security officers fired non-lethal ammunition towards the counter-protest.
Patriot Prayer supporters – many of whom wore the colours of a rightwing fraternity called Proud Boys – were seen hitting counter-protesters with flagpoles, trash can lids, and their fists.

There’s a term for when government agencies team up with volunteer paramilitaries to open fire on political opposition, and it’s not “riot.”

This is just after they cleared out the occupation camp outside the ICE HQ in Portland as well isn’t it?

Yep! Portland’s got full-scale shock troop presence atm.

Cool

Hope the city burns tbh

Portland delenda est

>far right >anti-fascist

I can see the word play in the headlines

> government agencies team up with volunteer paramilitaries

What sort of teamup involves the city revoking the marchers’ permit?

>This is just after they cleared out the occupation camp outside the ICE HQ in Portland as well isn’t it?

Gee, it’s almost as if the marchers suspected antifa would attack them and were deliberately baiting them.

By existing.

It's all engineered. The people that really own this place our purposely setting up conflicts like this to keep everyone in the left-right paradigm. They want everyone to pick a side and be fighting each other, so that we are not focused on what they are doing. It's a divide-and-conquer tactic. Look at history, governments have been engineering conflict since the beginning of time. The US government is well known for provocateuring things like this as well, they have even taken over legitimate protest. Look at who's funding these movements now. Look at all the paid protesters and people who get paid to shill. I'll provide documentation for both, I have it saved somewhere. Remind me if any of you guys are interested because it's getting kind of late here.

This is why Im delighted when I drive past a wreck, and the car that clearly had no survivors has a Trump sticker on the back.

This is why if attacked by one, Im not hesitating to beat them, nearly to death if I have to.

This is why I am 600% for violent revolution. No more peaceful protest. They obviously don’t care how many signs we make, or lie-ins we do.

This is war, they are the enemy.

We need to act accordingly.

People like you crack me up.

This is divide and conquer at it's best. Do you think things change based on who is in office?

The language we use to talk about racism is obviously distorted, a big clue that something is being hidden. It’s pretty easy to pinpoint the source: most White people can’t handle talking about racism. We flail. We don’t understand the subject, we get really uncomfortable, and we either clam up because we don’t want to say the wrong thing, or we bust out the whitesplaining (FYI, this is a best-case scenario. It can be much worse).
To mitigate our shortcomings, we surround ourselves with comforting words. Words that feel neutral. Words that don’t point fingers (at us). Words that center Whiteness, while erasing the harshness of discrimination and segregation. We reject words that we feel are too direct, that might reveal complicity on our part.
Let’s be clear that these linguistic gymnastics are only fooling White people. People of color have been aware that corporate pushes for “diversity” are often flimsy CYA efforts to mask sustained homogeneity, and “inclusion” is often code for tokenism. Scholars of color have been writing about the nuances of privilege and oppression for a long, longtime while watching White people invent different ways to either wriggle out of, dominate, or shut down the conversation. These same scholars have also been watching White writers and educators whisper the same exact thing they’ve been shouting, and magically draw a crowd.
….
Terms like “inclusion” and “white privilege” are designed to sneak past the racial stress triggers of White Fragility. They center Whiteness in a way that makes White people comfortable, while deflecting from the stressful realities of the racist harm that Whiteness causes. Imagine how many racial stress trigger alarm bells would go off if we were using words like “discrimination awareness” and “white undeserved advantages” instead.

And this:

White supremacy
Things we call “supreme”: The most delicious desserts. The most well-known and glamorous Motown singers. The highest court in the land. Um… God.
It has bothered me for years that linguistically, white supremacy sounds kind of great. Almost holy. It would sound more appropriately scary if it were called something actively negative, like “White domination” or “White oppressorship.” Once again, imagine the White stress level skyrocketing.
Some disambiguation is necessary with this term. “White supremacy” is a system that prioritizes whiteness regardless of the presence or absence of racial hatred, but a “white supremacist” is a person who embraces overt racial hatred. It’s like a spectrum. By default, all White people are on the spectrum of complicity in upholding a system of White supremacy, but we only give the negative label of “White supremacists” to the really hateful people at the far end. This allows the rest of us to say “we’re not them.”

This is a lot of bitter racism for one post. It's funny how much you feel the need to go on about how fragile white people are when the only one who is fragile here is you.

But no, don't work on making yourself a stronger individual, don't take responsibility for yourself and start working to put yourself in a better place, no... instead, project your personal flaws and fragility on an ENTIRE RACE of people, and keep telling yourself it's them.

Meanwhile you'll spread your racism and hatred around and the consequences will play out all around you. Your hateful fear-filled rhetoric will make, young minorities afraid of and bitter toward the white people that could have been their friends.

It will make white people afraid to interact with minorities, not because they hate them, or fear that they may be hurt, but because they are afraid that they might offend that person or immediately be perceived as secretly racist. Thus, the white person, will also miss out on great friendships and connections they could have had with people who happen to look different.

So I don't know if you think you're helping here, but you are not! Instead you are making race relations worse in the ways I just mentioned. You are simply driving the wedge between the people you claim to want to bring together and I've had about enough of this shit lately! Do you realize that you are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy? You ( as in the people that are propagating this bullshit) I've seen it all firsthand. You're literally creating racism. Some of you on this site should really be ashamed of yourselves.

Eva Solberg is a Swedish politician, a proud feminist who holds an important post as chairwoman of the party Moderate Women. Last year she was presented with her government’s latest strategy for combating domestic violence. Like similar reports across the world, this strategy assumes the only way to tackle domestic violence is through teaching misogynist men (and boys) to behave themselves.
The Swedish politician spat the dummy. Writing on the news site Nyheter24, Solberg took issue with her government’s “tired gendered analysis”, which argued that eradicating sexism was the solution to the problem of domestic violence. She explained her reasoning: “We know through extensive practice and experience that attempts to solve the issue through this kind of analysis have failed. And they failed precisely because violence is not and never has been a gender issue.”
….
She concluded that her government’s report was based on misinformation about family violence and that, contrary to the report’s one-sided view of men as the only perpetrators, many children were experiencing a very different reality: “We must recognise the fact that domestic violence, in at least half of its occurrence, is carried out by female perpetrators.

/clap

Comments are great too.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we need to stop gendering everything. We need to treat all victims of these types of issues equally. Obsessing over the gender victims of whatever pet issues feminists or MRAs alike have helps nothing. And in situations like this, it just makes one gender look worse than the other. This particular issue shows that identity politics and hyper-focus on gender helps nothing.

It does nothing but divide us. This is coming from someone who is abused by men and women both regularly and has been their whole life.

sex robots are disgusting and misogynistic! they are a threat to women like me with a deep hatred for men and no viable romantic prospects!

Here’s my question: How can feminists unironically say that sex robots are a threat or an insult to women without ever thinking that maybe that’s an insult to women? I mean, seriously… how low must your opinion of women be if you think a robot that provides a warm hole to stick a dick into and remembers a few simple things is a threat to women? Seriously though, if anyone is that all confused as to why I believe that feminism does not care about women and actually hates them. This whole debacle is a good example of what I’m talking about. The only thing they see women, disabled people, LGBT people and the like as is a weapon against freedom and opinions they don’t agree with. If you still don’t believe me, answer me this question… why is it taught and sometimes forced upon you in college? And why does the government seem to like it so much. Feminism in my opinion, is nothing more than an authoritarian ideologies that our government is using in a divide-and-conquer campaign in order to gain control of every aspect of your life. Look into it, it’s called order out of Chaos. In fact, if you look at everything that the government is doing right now and then you look at the ideology of feminism, you’ll see how many agendas feminism actually plays into. It’s really sad that anybody falls for this bullshit. All this applies to social justice in general, actually.

Oh by the way, feminists, you are actual misogynists. What you're doing is actual misogyny.
