I like clowns

Always have since I was a kid- in fact, I could easily skip all the other acts in a circus and just have an entire show of clown acts…

I’ve never understood why scary clowns are all anybody seems to talk about anymore. It’s like, to most people ALL clowns are scary, no matter what. Even if they don’t quite have coulrophobia. I blame Stephen King’s It.

Mind you, I LIKE a good scary clown- if done tastefully- but it’s almost all I see these days. Whatever happened to the delight and laughter that is brightly-colored, badly-dressed buffoons tripping over themselves in classic slapstick fashion? And pies?

What I’d like to see is a prominent clown character that’s actually friendly.

The same goes for mimes. I don’t get why everybody hates mimes. I like mimes.
