Stumbled on this delightfully illustrated Russian children’s book, a translation of an American story called Little Raccoon and the Thing in the Pool by Lilian Moore. I was researching the book after finding a (rather crudely) animated version, also from Russia, but this edition is much nicer than either that or the original illustrations I think.
I'm sure Frozen will be a fine addition to the Disney canon, but if you're like me, you're wishing that they were doing a more faithful adaptation of The Snow Queen rather than "Tangled with snow". This should help.
