Rock bands/musicians I’ve been lucky enough to see live in concert:

I would bet anything that the so-called “motorik” beat in krautrock was actually invented by some Motown or soul drummer, because it sounds so darn familiar to me. It even reminds me of some beats that Ringo did.
On January 28, 1969, while The Beatles were rehearsing Old Brown Shoe, John Lennon brought out a Stylophone. A Stylophone is a miniature synthesizer, introduced in 1968. It works by tapping the dummy keys with a stylus, which activates the note. As you hear in this video, it's got a very buzzy tone. The Stylophone is probably best known for its use in David Bowie's classic "Space Oddity".

The Beatnix - "If You've Got Trouble" One of the best Beatles tribute albums is this one, which covers a selection of songs that John and Paul gave away to other artists. The most remarkable part is how the new inventive arrangements and energetic performances manage to breathe life into some of the most lackluster Lennon/McCartney tunes out there. Now they sound like they could have been classics! This Ringo track, while technically not given away to anybody, is one of the better examples.
