Mother’s Day drawings from years past
Honestly, what these guys built was more meaningful and symbolic of their friendship than that dumb castle that swallowed it up. They at least could have made it a lower level or something...
You know, I’m sure I would have been more interested in Spyro as a kid if their ad campaign was more than just “he sets fire to sheep”.
Mostly-finished original starter Pokémon designs.
The basic idea was to find a rock-paper-scissors trio similar to Fire-Water-Grass, and I managed to come up with Dark-Psychic-Fighting. I also wanted them to evoke old Gen I-II designs.
The Dark starter is inspired by the crested rat, and opossums. It becomes Dark/Fire when it evolves. The Fighting starter is based on hedgehogs and porcupines. It becomes Fighting/Electric when it evolves. The Psychic starter is basically a dragon- I haven’t really been inspired by the idea so far... I need to come up with something new to make the line more interesting.
They don’t have names yet, but I’m really happy with how they look so far. I’d add color, but I want that Ken Sugimori watercolor look, and I don’t think I could pull that off without an art tablet (I’ve never been able to afford one). SOMEBODY BUY ME A FRIGGIN TABLET ALREADY GAH
You guys have no idea how long I’ve been looking for this thing. One of these was at a local park we used to go to when we were kids, and we found the thing fascinating. Although, that one had plain wood under the artwork instead of white paint. For years, we couldn’t find anything about this game, not even a single image. I was beginning to worry that it was one-of-a-kind and probably thrown out years ago. Of course, we had no idea what the rules were supposed to be, so we just made them up. I’m sure they were better than the real ones.
Just saw a preview screening of How to Train Your Dragon 2. STUFF HAPPENS MAN
Unofficial strategy guide for the first generation Pokémon games, plus an anime episode guide, and other neat things.
This is one of those cases where lack of quality didn’t take away from my childhood fascination with the thing. This book is falling apart in some places.
