I hear a lot of people dislike Scott Conant for whatever reasons, but aside from his weirdly specific aversion to red onions, I don’t think he’s the worst Chopped judge. Aarón Sánchez, Marc Murphy, Chris Santos, and Geoffrey Zakarian have their annoying asshole moments, too. But I actually like Aarón, so his 3dg310rd comments mostly get a pass from me. The man certainly knows his way around a mortar and pestle, if you catch my drift.
every time i see "beat bobby flay" on the tv's onscreen guide, my first thought is, "with a bat or with bare knuckles?" like i can't tell if that title is a dare or a life goal.

You haven't seen true hubris until you've seen someone think they're gonna win Chopped with deconstructed ravioli.
One of my favorite parts of Chopped is the walk of shame chefs have to do after they get chopped. It's bad enough they were just eliminated from the competition, but now they have to walk alone down a hallway with a camera at the end of it while the audience watches them to struggle not to cry--not always successfully--and an optimistic voice over plays. Like, they're already losers, but they have to suffer one last humiliation for the audience's benefit before they can leave. It's kind of evil, and I love it. The absolute worst is when it's a worthy chef who shouldn't have been chopped in the first place.
This show is misleading. There are no machetes or brass knuckles in any of the baskets.
If a grown female chef competes on Man VS Child, do they rename the show?

when you’re trying to enjoy Cooks vs Cons but the inherent sexism that leads the judges to always calling the female chef a con kinda kills the vibe….
I saw an episode with a black lady who had amazing knife skills out of this world that immediately gave her away as a cook, and there were still two judges saying, "Hmm, I don't know. She seems like a con, but I can't figure out why she's so good with those knives hmmmmmmm."
She was later revealed to not only be a cook, but she was also the HEAD CHEF AND SUPERVISOR WHERE SHE WORKED
