thinking abt pre rship dratchet... i like to think they get along very well and are friends regardless, if in a mildly antagonistic way lol. anyways i firmly hc ratchet as EXTREMELY touchy (by nature of his practice, but there are a lot of instances of him not rly knowing what to say and touching some1 to try and convey that he cares. filling the gap where his words might fail him) and used to ppl being in his Business. and drift, imo, is very touch starved and not very trusting, but when he DOES trust someone, hes much more physical.

so. you got both ratchet and drift who suck at showing affection thru words but are better at displaying their care with touch. what im getting at: drift having zero concept of personal space w ratchet even BEFORE they get together

first aid watches ratchet take a few steps over to some piece of equipment, watches drift follow so that their shoulders are brushing again, and first aid decides to keep his observations to himself bcuz drifts presence molifies ratchets mood like nothing else

ive become so accustomed and convinced of my short ratchet headcannon that i feel genuinely blindsided and baffled when ppl say hes taller than drift

Hey this panel is super cute, but also I can’t stop thinking about how like… for the entire series ratchet has been trying to gently dissuade drift from protecting him by standing in front of him and slicing everything that comes near them into tiny pieces (because that’s just been his immediate response to danger on multiple occasions?) but this time that’s like…. specifically what he was put there to do. His time finally came gsjdsjdsfsdhjs
