At The Threat Management Center, Priority Is Not Making it Home
How many of us have been told by police employees that the reason they *must* take such aggressive actions is to "make it home to my family"? That mindset, according to Threat Management Center founder Dale Brown is flawed. Instead, those tasked with protecting others - those who take a salary to do so, should have as their highest priority the safety of others. Incentives matter. Police, as currently structured, will never provide protection, justice or be accountable. Dale Brown and his colleagues at Threat Management center are proving that these services are better supplied through consensual interactions.

Two MARTA police officers (Officers Jann and Huff) stopped 3 young men as they were leaving the Edgewood/Candler Park MARTA station. The cops stopped them, ordered them to sit on the ground, and then questioned them. Finding nothing suspicious, the 3 were allowed to leave. But within a few minutes, they were stopped again by more police. This time they were held for over 2 hours and interrogated by APD Officer C Jones about a supposed purse-snatching which had happened the previous day.
Officers claim that the young men all "fit the description", even though the 3 looked very different from each other. An actual description was never provided. Initially the police claimed there was one suspect, but later they said they were looking for 3 people. Despite being held for hours, police did not seem to perform any investigation other than questioning the young men repeatedly, at times about completely unrelated matters.
Shortly after copwatch activists arrived, the 3 were released.

The two males were seeing why the vehicles were being towed. The male in the blue truck pulled up late after getting out he asked officers why the cars were being towed, cops asked him things which i wasnt able to hear he moved towards the front left fender then towards the front bumper when he started walking back towards his drivers door it seemed to appear thats what he was either directed to do or was doing out of free will. Instantly the officer from behind him pursued a takedown forcing extreme force just to cuff him. The office put his knee in his back and neck taking multiple punches also the brother was recording and the officer seen him as to close to the other officers while doing so they proceeded with all that he moved to the side walk the rest of what he did was on the video but when the man filming took off towards the house to give the camera to his aunt, who is handicapped and wheel chair bound sitting in the hallway the whole time when he got into the house she was knocked down. Later admitted by the officer arresting him outside. I was not able to hear much more then the camera itself so everything they said was not heard.

15 Cops Viciously Attack 3 men Claim Stress as Excuse
Six of the officers will be given restitution in the form of pay, overtime, benefits and pension payments for all the time they missed since their reprimand, Police Comm. Charles Ramsey said. Sgt. Schiavone's demotion was also overturned. Officers Patrick Whalen and Robert Donnelly were rookies at the time of the incident and will not automatically get their jobs back, according to Comm. Ramsey. They can reapply for the job, though. "I don't agree with the decision, but it is decision of the arbitrator and I respect that," Comm. Ramsey said. A 2009 grand jury also found that the officers' actions did not warrant criminal charges. The three alleged suspects were also acquitted of charges related to the shooting.
