BitShares 2.0  Pre-Release

This release is the first version of BitShares based upon the Graphene Toolkit produced by Cryptonomex.  

Seed nodes and genesis file have been included in the source.

This release we adopt a new versioning system.   Major hard forks with new features will increment the major version number (2).   Incremental updates and bug fixes will be denoted by YEAR.DAY of their release.  

This is a "pre-release" for users helping to bootstrap the latest BitShares 2.x network and not recommended for casual users at this point in time.

Preview: It’s been another week and another significant step forward. We started a new and hopefully final testnet last week. So far we have 33 Witnesses that have been voted in. We have a total of 100% Witness participation which is better than the current BitShares network. Thank you testers! These are 33 unique servers that have managed to stay in sync despite spamming. We survived the double block signing without missing a block. All fixes put in last week boosted transaction throughput and testers achieved transactions with a couple of hundred transactions in them with 3 second blocks. I am very happy with the results of this test network and feeling very good about the October 13th upgrade. If you had doubts in the past month, those issues appear to have been resolved and we have a relatively stable blockchain, as stable as BitShares 1.0.
