TruthStreamMedia.com Hacked, Video Censored
Gee. I guess someone really didn't like what we had to say. Guess we should say it even louder.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence ...
that on the same day there are articles about Reddit & Tumblr censoring it's users. It's not like a trend or anything, it's just one of those 'one in a million' happenings.
The MPAA is in discussions with the major movie studios over ways to introduce site blocking to the United States. TorrentFreak has learned that the studios will try to achieve website blockades using principles available under existing law. Avoiding another SOPA-style backlash is high on the agenda.
In fact, Alexis Ohanian hasn't actively moderated anything for years.
The Turkish ISPs are starting to block Google DNS IP addresses
Russia's government has escalated its use of its Internet censorship law to target news sites, bloggers, and politicians under the slimmest excuse of preventing unauthorized protests and enforcing house arrest regulations. Today, the country's ISPs have received orders to block a list of major news sites and system administrators have been instructed to take the servers providing the content offline.
Opposition leader and former chess champion Garry Kasparov tweeted in response to the new crackdown:
These are huge news sites, not political groups. Giant Echo of Moscow site now just gone. Grani, EJ, Navalny's blog, all blocked in Russia.
Link is ... "a content delivery mechanism for data, a searchable index for meta-data, a record of account for anything (not just currency), but it does so by literally transforming the blockchain into programmable framework that can be freely modified and adapted to whatever the user desires. The directions it can be taken from there are limited by imagination... how would you like to reprogram your blockchain today?" - Travis Savo
tl;dr : It's The Pirate Bay on steroids. It can't be taken down. But it's so much more too. Patents, notary service, exchanges, information ... you name it and it's all decentralized.
Side Note : It's amazing to watch stories about Miley, Rihanna, etc reach 1M views here, while stories revealing the technology that will end tyrannical control over the world receive no attention at all. Your loss.
While Ecuador has received plenty of attention for granting asylum to Julian Assange and being one possible landing place for Ed Snowden, it's no secret that the country is not exactly known as a bastion of civil liberties protection. In fact...

Aerial photography ban proposed for all but government
In New Hampshire, an aerial photography ban has raised more questions than answer as fears regarding drones heat up - measured reaction or overreaction?
New Hampshire bill proposes aerial photography ban
Neal Kurk (R), member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives since 1986 has recently sponsored HB 619-FN to make aerial photography illegal in their state, which many are considering a look into the future. States are currently struggling with how to deal with advances in drone technology, particularly mini-drones, fueled by fears not only that the federal government is using drones on U.S. soil, but are using them abroad not only to take out terrorists, but suspected terrorists, even if American.

"A person is guilty of a class A misdemeanor if such person knowingly creates or assists in creating an image of the exterior of any residential dwelling in this state where such image is created by or with the assistance of a satellite, drone, or any device that is not supported by the ground. This prohibition shall not apply where the image does not reveal forms identifiable as human beings or man-made objects. In this paragraph, “dwelling” means any building, structure, or portion thereof which is occupied as, or designed or intended for occupancy as, a residence by one or more individuals."
Most music videos on YouTube are still not available in Germany because of an ongoing dispute between YouTube and the GEMA, Germany’s main performance rights organisation. This has been very annoying for German YouTube users but so far no solution for the conflict is in sight.
Multiple solutions are available for users, one of them being proxy solutions through browser plugins like ProxTube. However, unless you run all traffic through a proxy (instead of only the videos as is the case with ProxTube), this has the disadvantage that blocked videos won’t even show up in your YouTube searches. Additionally those free extensions often suffer from the problem of having high traffic costs to run their proxy servers, so they try shady things like injecting ads on other sites.
Another way is a regular VPN with an endpoint in another country which has its disadvantages as well. Most providers will route all your traffic through their VPN, usually reducing the bandwidth and increasing latency. Most also give you only a private IP address and use some form of carrier grade NAT.
US States Pass Legislation to Censor Free Speech on the Internet
The Illinois State Senate has introduced bill 1614 entitled “Internet Posting Removal Act” that “provides that a web site administrator shall, upon request, remove any posted comments posted by an anonymous poster unless the anonymous poster agrees to attach his or her name to the post and confirms that his or her IP address, legal name, and home address are accurate.”
This bill is championed by State Senator Ira Silverstein. The language of the bill defines an anonymous poster as “any individual who posts a message on a web site including social networks, blogs, forums, message boards, or any other discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages.”
In the name of curbing telephone harassment and applying this control to Internet activity, Arizona State legislators have passed House Bill 2549. The law uses anti-bullying campaigns to establish any offensive communications including editorials, illustrations, and satires become a crime to be punished.
