The cruelty inherent in animal factory farming is something that we as a species should find completely and totally unacceptable. Indeed, evidence shows that when people are exposed to the nightmarish conditions faced by factory animals prior to consumption they demand change. This is precisely why corporate interests have pushed ag-gag laws throughout the nation in an attempt to criminalize the exposure of these methods.
I am sure many of you have already been exposed to videos of shocking animal cruelty before. Even if you have, the video below created by Mercy for Animals is a very important watch. It exposes unthinkable abuse of tiny, helpless pigs for absolutely no good reason. These incidents were filmed at Pipestone System’s Rosewood Farms in Pipestone, Minnesota earlier this year.

Say hello to the ‘Butterfly of the Sea’ also known as a Sea Robin or Gurnard. An odd looking fish, this species is a bottom dweller, they live on the sea floor and can actually “walk” along underwater by alternatively moving its pelvic fins and short pectoral fin rays. It’s not related to flying fish, nor do they glide in air, the large pectoral fins are normally held against the body but are spread out when threatened to put off predators.

Indiana wants to make exposing animal abuse illegal
The state of Indiana is fighting to make it a crime to secretly record the practices of businesses and share the footage with the intent to put the company in a bad light. Despite the numerous cases of video showcasing animal mistreatment on farms being leaked to the media, state lawmakers are putting a controversial "ag-gag" bill back on the table to protect these establishments .
