Just saw Reyna make a post about Zim saying nice words to Dib and praising him and it got me thinking
Zim bringing Dib to The Massive to meet his Tallests in person and such, and they let him experiment in their labs
And Purple checks up on them, and he congratulates him, saying that he's going a great job; Dib, having never been complimented by a parental figure (aside from his mom [AU], but he was 11), most likely tears up because of it
