Hi Guys!

I promise things are still going on behind the scenes over here. Taking a bit longer than expected because my health/my families health has been over the map.

But, one thing we wanted to go ahead and get started is this-

We’re asking for your book reviews. Any books that deals with trauma, in any size- if it was helpful to you.

The original idea started with reviews leaning towards workbooks and non-fiction, but I’m obviously a strong believer in the power of fiction narratives.

Hey y’all,

A few people expressed an interest in donating straight cash rather than waiting for a short story they might be interested in.

Our goal is currently 255 dollars which would cover both the paperwork necessary to become a non profit and server hosting.

We have made it up to 82 dollars thanks to 6 lovely individuals.

For just a little bit more, I’ll be able to secure a server for the next three years. Buying a longer plan makes it cheaper in the long run, and means we won’t have to worry about that cost in the upcoming years.

Around 1/3rd of the resources have already been prepared and I’ll be in contact with some of the people who offered to do translations soon.

I’m super excited from the conversations I’ve been having with other board members/founding parties- There are some really cool things we’re hoping to do.

But we can only do that with your help. Every dollar and reblog helps.

I decided to take this screenshot so that we could talk candidly about what we’re raising money for.

Those are just the paperwork associated costs for the Trauma Survivor Library.

Other priority fees:

-Domain Name

-Server Hosting

If and when we’ve raised enough money to cover all of that, the next bit will go to making sure the founders aren’t having to pay for the website to be created out of pocket.

From there, because if enough people enjoy the short stories I do hope to continue them- the money will currently have one of two purposes:

-Either it will go to helping create physical resources so that we can offer them to universities and shelters

or

-It will go to helping us pay survivors for their work. I’ve worked on projects in the past where we’re collaborated with survivors and given them a space to speak out and talk about their unique experiences. Especially because we so often work with marginalized survivors, ideally I would love to pay these individuals for their work.

[Image description: An e-book cover in black and white, it’s an extreme close-up of the Roman Colosseum. The title ‘Rome’ is written in gray. ‘There are some places you can’t help but return’’ is toward the bottom with the author’s name K.L. at the very bottom in small white font.]

They always told James that all roads led to Rome. When a job offer takes him back to the town he grew up in, and the trauma he faced there, he begins to understand what that statement really means.

Trigger Warning: Themes surrounding childhood trauma, and worries about being a parent because of it. There are no graphic descriptions, but if these topics are hard for you, take precautions.

The Trauma Survivor Library is a work-in-progress non-profit that will aim to bring accessible, gender neutral resources to interpersonal trauma survivors as well as curate and boost the voices of those survivors.
