Alistair when he’s romanced vs Alistair when Morrigan is romanced
I got a beautiful gift fic from @nilboxes the other day and I love it so much. Thank you!
The uncharted territory of the Arbor Wilds proved to be quite the challenge for the Inquisition’s army to traverse. Any trek to roads less travelled was quite the task, but Vax was as optimistic as he could ever be. This would be a decisive battle for the Inquisition. Corypheus had begun to consolidate his army, and that meant they could strike them where it hurts.
Lady Morrigan had volunteered to accompany them, much to Dorian’s vague displeasure and Vax’s delight.
“These wilds have much history,” Morrigan said. “One could only surmise what it is Corypheus intends to find here.”
Vax smiled, his handsome, rugged features lighting up and softening when he did. “We’ll have enough spies to slow down Corypheus’ army until the rest of Cullen’s soldiers arrive.”
Morrigan smiled, the kind that had a sardonic bent to it, but was not in any way unkind. “Such confidence. But this place is not so kind to visitors.”
“With your expertise, Lady Morrigan, I am confident we are well equipped to handle whatever the Arbor Wilds will throw at us,” Vax grinned.
Morrigan chuckled and their conversation continued.
Dorian watched this entire scene playing in front of him with a small grimace. Never let it be said that it was easy to be the Inquisitor’s lover, considering how his dear amatus flirted when he likely didn’t intend to. Had the Inquisitor not just had his tongue down Dorian’s throat just hours before, he might have believed otherwise.
That said, Dorian ignored the exchange, or at least tried to. He side-eyed the pair, hating that they were a pair, and rolled his eyes at yet another set of playful banter. One would think the Inquisitor had his fill of dark-haired mages with a penchant for sarcasm, apparently not.
Before Dorian could interject a comment between the both of them, a sudden gust of gelid winds blew through them.
“It seems we might be expecting a snowstorm,” Morrigan said.
Vax’s face straightened from the easy smile into one slightly more serious, but calm. “Then we should prepare camp before it hits, if there’s anything I learned at Haven, it was these things could hit quite fast.”
He winked at Dorian. “Seems like we get to rest up early tonight, love.”
Dorian made a face. “In the face of a delightful snowstorm. I heard.”
Vax grinned, but said nothing else as he began to call for camp to be made somewhere suitable to weather a storm.
The efficiency of the Inquisition army had them huddling in tents. Vax had pulled him into their tent the moment the furs and the blankets had been laid out.
“Come inside before the snowstorm starts,” Vax said.
Dorian scoffed as he allowed himself to be undressed to his underclothes. “Isn’t this funny, I would think you would prefer a different bedmate at this particular time.”
Vax looked a little surprised. “What?” he began, and his eyes lit when he came to a realization, followed by a small chuckle. “Is this about Morrigan? No, of course not, love, it’s only a bit of banter.”
The upturned chin Dorian put on communicated that he was not yet fully convinced. But Vax knew a quick kiss to his chin as he slid his hand beneath Dorian’s shirt would be a good start to an apology.
“She’s clever, confident, powerful and I like her,” Vax murmured, “Because she reminds me of you.”
Dorian made a small smirk. “Such sweet words, dear Inquisitor,” he said and as much as he wanted to he couldn’t bring himself to be upset for long, not when those hands had traveled south, eager and promising endless pleasure with teasing caresses.
“Is it working?” Vax asked, lifting Dorian into his arms and lowering them both to the makeshift bed.
“I am not quite sure, perhaps a more thorough demonstration is required,” Dorian answered, slipping his hands between them to give Vax’s groin a brief squeeze through his trousers.
Vax captured Dorian’s mouth in a searing kiss. “I am at your service.”
The snowstorm began to fall in earnest outside, but the lovers hardly noticed and wouldn’t even feel the biting cold until much later when they wake up to the storm still raging on after they had finished their lovemaking and fell asleep in each other’s arms, only to find that the best thing to do would be to indulge in each other’s passions once more.
“ i’m fine, i can walk, just give me a minute ” with Vax and Morrigan ;DD
This was… fun! >:D
Vaxus Trevelyan, of course, belongs to @lateforerebor. (approx 800 words, some under the cut
Morrigan eyed Vax ashe limped a few steps, jaw clenched stubbornly, before stopping to rest hishand against the trunk of a nearby tree. He breathed in sharply through hisnose, as though the act could somehow lessen his pain, then caught Morrigan’s gaze. She fixed him with a questioning look.
“A problem, Vaxus?”
Vaxus stiffenedimmediately, then shook his head. He painted a bright smile on his face that wasso fake Morrigan could have sold it to an Orlesian as a mask.
“I’m fine, I can walk,just… give me a minute.”
Still grinning, he made the bright decision to pat the bark of the tree like a mabari. It was, of course, some absurd attempt to hide the factthat he required its support. Morrigan, given the circumstances and the fact that she was not a fool, was not buying it.
“I see,” Morrigan saidslowly, folding her arms and arching one eyebrow at him. “And I suppose that tree was starved for attention, and in dire in need of your affections?”
Vax froze mid-pat, asthough only just realising what he was doing and that it made absolutely no logical sense. Hestraightened, clearing his throat awkwardly, and tugged at the bottom of hisshirt to straighten it. “I was just… checking. You know. The bark. It’s good. Let’s ah, go. Come on, Morrigan. Maker, you’reslowing us down!”
This time, Morriganjust waited patiently, her mouth curved into a smirk of amusement as Vaxhobbled a few steps again, then nearly tipped like an overbalanced scale. Itwas his right leg. He had taken a hit from a mace in their previous battle. A glancing blow, of course,as his leg was not snapped in half, but enough to cause him significantpain. Morrigan had seen it happen, of course. She had even sent the man responsiblescreaming into the void for his trouble.
Now, she had this to deal with.
Inktober Day #2: Varrigan
@bisexualryder requested some Vaxus x Morrigan and I was happy to oblige!

13. The Blood that Binds Us
20 years earlier…
He tries again even though they both know it’s futile. The enchanted wood doesn’t give way beneath his shoulder or boot no matter what force he puts behind each assault. There is only the one door and one window, open and wide without any bars, but it is no easy exit. June’s fortress is far underground and their view is a river of lava surging below. He thinks he could maybe climb the chimney, thinks he can see a patch of light somewhere up there, but he can’t leave. He can’t leave her behind.
They’ve chained Keela to the middle of the floor with some metal he’s never seen before. Copper colored veins strike through it shimmering every time she moves, which is more often than he wishes. The skin of her neck and wrist is red beneath the cuffs around it and every motion seems to rub raw, but she won’t settle, raging and struggling against this constant pain as maddening as an itch that won’t go away. Asca’elgar, she called it, the knowledge drudged up from the Well of Sorrows, but there is no known way to escape this drain on her body and magic. A cruel cage made by cruel gods. Vaxus and Keela are both trapped and the trap, one he suspect Solas is going to walk into willingly. It’s what he would do for the people he loves too.
Anyone wants their heart ripped out today? Read it.
As someone whose favourite Dragin Age character is Morrigan, I can honestly say that your Morrigan looks amazing. Trust me, my Morrigan standards are ridiculously high, and I have never had reason to dislike your version of her. Your art is great. :)
Thank you so much!
When Kieran was at Skyhold Vax spent most of his free time showing him all games he knows (:
Sarcastic, dark hairded mages are Vaxus’ weakness.
Don’t mind me. There is just a chemistry between Morrigan and Vaxus in-game and I can’t help but to low-key ship them. And every time I think about them there is greatly disapproving Dorian in the background.
It’s a little hard to read it the vid, so here is the comic version.
Also Chance just recently updated so if you are a Zevran fan go read it... or a dao really since the banter in this fic is just the best thing ever ;D
I call it the Vax’s logic.
Though my personal fav is Solas. ‘Someone should drink from the Well. But not you, not Dorian, not me and most absolutely not the witch. But someone should use it.’
Morrigan D1?
She’s probably thinking about stealing Alistair’s cheese or something.
