Sometimes I think about how Viktor Nikiforov may be one of the first queer Russian characters portrayed in media that young Russian folks who may be questioning their gender, sexuality and such ever see and even though Yuri On Ice is idyllic, I can’t imagine that it isn’t wonderful to see a character from your own country living happily with the man he’s in love with (even going as far as to kiss him on national television!), Yuri On Ice just doesn’t miss.

Even though it is a sports anime, that’s how they so intricately express their love to each other, through dancing and skating and becoming comfortable with their sexuality (Yuuri, for example!).

It’s just beautiful, I don’t know how else to describe it.

In case anyone was wondering about the pigeon, this possibly means that Viktor is unhappy and he could very well be mourning something (during his youth) that also carried over to his adulthood (I think we can take Stammi Viccino as an example here) and this could also possibly be his first Olympics, it makes me wonder what exactly he’s either lost/going to lose or needs to let go of.
