Hey there! I’d just like to take a moment to talk about an upcoming show. So, recently, I’ve been working with a fabulous team in the production of a wonderful upcoming YouTube webseries called “The Uncanny Upshurs” - it’s an urban fantasy about a pair of twins who are living away from each other for the first time in their lives, and how they discover that the world isn’t quite how they thought it was.

It’s honestly an incredible piece of work that I have so-far loved working on - it’s from a little Indie production, a collaboration of the two teams who created “Twelfth Grade (or Whatever)” and “The Grey Tarmac Road”, which are LGBT, diverse, brilliant, awesome indie adaptations of “Twelfth Night” and “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” respectively.

Unlike these two shows, however, “The Uncanny Upshurs” (or “#UnUps” as we’re calling it) is an entirely new piece of fiction created for the sole purpose of being a new webshow. It has a brilliantly diverse cast, full of people of colour, characters with disabilities, LGBT folks and more - one of the lead characters, Agatha Upshur, is a wonderful trans girl being played by an actual real life transgender woman.

To anybody who likes any kind of indie webseries, you’ll be amazed at how much work has gone into the Uncanny Upshurs, it’s honestly a masterpiece from what I’ve seen so far (which is quite a lot). To anybody who’s a fan of Harry Potter, or Percy Jackson or Buffy the Vampire Slayer - you’ll LOVE this with a PASSION.

The IndieGoGo isn’t asking for much, and some of the rewards are pretty cool - you can have your name in the credits, receive some signed postcards and scripts from the crew, and even have a Skype conversation with the cast - honestly, any amount of money will help create this wonderful piece of work which is, so far, being funded completely out of the pockets of the two directors. Every extra penny will just go towards making the show better and easier to create for the cast and crew (who are ALL volunteering), and the campaign will just make it that much easier, even if it just goes towards paying for the actors to travel to and from the sets.

So yeah, to help become part of funding a wonderful indie urban fantasy full of racially diverse, LGBT characters, autistic representation and enough smiles to put a mime out of business, help fund this incredible piece of work - the Uncanny Upshurs.

Please help signal boost this!!! Agatha Upshur is being portrayed by none other than yours truly ;)

Roxie says:

Misuse of mod power incoming!

I’m reblogging this from my personal blog to promote it here - this show is going to be absolutely fantastic; it’s full of LGBT representation including yours truly as Agatha Upshur, a trans girl who is one of the two primary protagonists - if you like magic, LGBT representation, indie shows or literally any of the content you see here, on this blog, then you’ll love the Uncanny Upshurs - I promise it’s going to be incredible! Please signal boost it and, if you can, donate a dollar or two to the campaign.

Another Binder Give Away!!!

Thats right, another one. If you’ve previously won a binder, please don’t enter (to make it easy for me), but if you’ve entered and haven’t won, feel free to enter again. This give away is going to be a little bit different, I’ll be giving away a new, half tank gc2b binder of any size** or color (the winner will tell me their preferences). **You should definitely size yourself using this link Make sure to note that gc2b binders run a little small, especially when you first wear it. The rules for entering are as follows:

  • Must reside in the US (this is simply for shipping purposes)**
  • This is not for cosplay, but for someone who really needs a binder (either because they can’t afford one, or because of family members won’t buy one for them) in the trans community
  • You must be okay with giving me your address and your email

How to actually enter: Reblogging or liking will not enter you because you can (and I’d love if you did) reblog just to boost this. In order to enter, you either need to:

  1. Send an off-anon message to me and say you want to enter
  2. Direct message me and say you want to enter (recommended so I can keep track of your username)

**Discreet packaging is available.

I will respond to tell you I’ve put you on the list. If I don’t respond, I didn’t receive your message. The final day to enter will be Saturday, July 23rd. I will contact the winner that following Sunday. Enter by: SATURDAY, JULY 23rd AT 11:59 pm Also, if there is anyone out there who has a used binder of any size that they no longer want/need, please contact me. DONATE TO MORE GIVEAWAYS Stay tuned because I will be doing a binder give away next month as well! Good luck!!!

I don't want to be annoying or clog your inbox, but I'm a 17 y/o ftm going to Texas A&M University, Galveston, next year and I was wondering if you could signal boost this so that maybe someone who'd have me as a roommate--preferably another trans/queer/nb person--could reblog or signal boost at least? sorry it's just that you have such a huge following and I can't use legit roommate services for personal reasons.

At Ways2Raise we believe in community.

To us, community means uplifting every member, creating space for those who are struggling, and being an inexhaustible source of comfort and love. This is why, this holiday season, we are beginning a campaign to create 20 care packages for trans feminine people in need. (Trans feminine meaning trans women or DMAB nonbinary people.) In addition to facing the majority of the violence targeted towards the lgbtq community, trans feminine community members are often excluded from resources that are created within the community. As the trans community has grown in the last few years, the amount of resources have been disproportionately tailored towards trans masculine individuals. Where there exists clothing programs, safe spaces, and companies dedicated to trans masculine people there are so few of those things directly or even indirectly benefiting trans feminine people. While a care package itself won’t end the exclusion and discrimination that trans feminine people face, it is a step in the right direction and the first of many that we will be taking as a company and as a community. There is room for great change in our community. There is room for more love and more support. And it’s time to actively work towards becoming stronger and more bonded as a community. To stand for and support every member of our community, not just some of us. If you are a trans feminine person who would benefit from our care package, please visit our registry hereIf you would like to be a part of this movement, please donate today.

signal boost pls

so hey everyone you may have seen my other post asking for clothes (jeans mostly) and money for myself and my fam, but I’m making this to go more in depth!

ok so about 14 months ago mom & I finally left my dad because he was mega abusive, at the time she had a job and we planned to only live with my grandma until March, then move to our own place. Obviously that didn’t happen. She lost her job, we’re living off of food stamps, and my grandma’s paying all our bills.

on top of that we both need therapy and medication that we can’t afford, and I’m trying to save up for my transition as well.

I’m only 16 but the pressure is so high right now, I have anxiety attacks daily. I need to move for my own good, because my dad knows where we live now and I don’t feel safe.

I don’t have paypal, so if you want to donate it’d have to be via snail mail, which is weird but my only option.

I can draw or be your penpal in exchange! I’m a pretty good artist, and I’d draw basically anything for you!

please help us, I didn’t want to ask but I think we need it.

message me for details and thank you so much for your time!

Because Other Swimwear Options Just Don’t Cut it For Some of Us.

Help us provide an option for the nonbinary and transmasculine community in terms of swimtops. Everyone should have the option to go shirtless if they want to and everyone should be able to do it comfortably and confidently. Some people are cool with wearing a bikini top, tight compression sports bra, or a baggy tshirt – but what if you aren’t? What if you want to get a tan and wear something that’s more “masculine” or gender neutral? What if you want to be able to just feel shirtless? Our Bareskin Top is our solution to this problem. Offered in a variety of skin tones and in a more comfortable cut than other binders on the market, the Bareskin Top allows you to wear something that is less visually triggering than anything else out there and allows you to get a tan while also spending time in the water.

We need your help to make it a reality though! Our kickstarter is live until December 19, 2015 and with your help donating and spreading the word, we can have these bad boys available by next summer if we meet our fundraising goal.

Don’t you think everybody deserves to feel comfortable in their bare skin?

Donate, signal boost, spread the word, & support your community! If every person who reblogged this donated just $5 we would reach our goal in no time!

__________________________________

Special thanks to Yoomi Park for shooting our video and for Kayla, Chris, Rookie and Courtney for drinking beer at 11am to make this happen.

This product won’t be perfect for everyone but for some it’s exactly what they are looking for– I know that we made the prototype because of my personal experience with Dysphoria and not being satisfied with the options I have for swimtops as a transmasc person. I don’t want to cover myself with a shirt all the time, I don’t want to swim in something that looks like a wetsuit, I don’t like the way my other binders look underneath tanktops in the summer, etc. I personally want to look down and not be triggered, and for me (and many others) top surgery isn’t attainable anytime soon, so something that “blends” more into my skin is a relief.

The bareskin top has helped ease my Dysphoria, similar to when I tried on my very first binder– and now I wear this top more than my other binder hands down.

SO AGAIN– if every one of my followers donated JUST $1 we would easily meet our goal!! We see that a lot of you support this idea and we want to make it a reality– but we need your help!!

Spread Love for Transgender Suicide Awareness

At time of writing, it’s been less than one week since the world has lost one of its lights in the darkness to suicide.

He brought happiness and wisdom to all that he met, and cared so deeply for each life he encountered. He wanted nothing more than to learn, educate and love…but his time spent doing so was cut short at the hands of inaccessible transgender-related healthcare, scarce and inadequate information on what it means to be transgender, and social retaliation and ignorance toward our cause.

If you’d like something happy, positive, encouraging, or comforting left in your askbox, please like or reblog this post. I can assure you that this isn’t for the notes, nor the attention, nor the shock factor– it’s so the light of my friend can be that of a star, continuing to shine, even after its death.

Asks sent will be personalized to you. If this post does end up receiving many notes, please help me by sending something kind in my place when you see it reblogged.
