Do you recommend any specific compression sports bras?
Lee says:
I used to get mine from Target and they had a few Target brand sports bras without any padding or inserts on sale, so that was pretty cheap and they worked pretty well.
I also had an Underworks Magicotton Sports Bra and Binding Minimizer Bra that was pretty binder-like.
Qwear Fashion has a Flattening Sports Bras recommendation post here with some more specific recommendations. People also recommend the Frog Bra but they’re out of stock right now.
As Kai writes here, you can also find high compression sports bras from athletic brands like Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, etc.
- Ren made some sweet info on binding with sports bras (x, x) and we also have a post about binding with camisoles. If you’re binding with a sports bra, you want this type.
- Here’s a post about asking for a sports bra.
- Binding with two sports bras is still binding, and the same rules about wearing a binder apply to sports bra binding!
Followers, any recs for anon?

tylerthefreak said: If you are able to, get a Nike sports bra, they are made for exercise and help bind pretty well and you should only need one. You won’t be completely completely flat but it really helps with chest dysphoria.
captainhansolo said: I personally use a Champion compression bra daily as an alternative for a binder. They’re very comfortable!
I saw a post on tumblr about a dancer or ballet sports bra or whatever it was that it compresses and makes your chest look smaller and is a good alternative to binding if you are not out to your parents, do you know anything about this?

Do you mean a compression sports bra?
They are sports bras that are meant to flatten your chest, not usually to the same extent as a binder but more than a normal sports bra.
Is it okay to wear an underworld compression sports bra to workout?
Lee says:
Not if it’s the “Extreme MagiCotton Sports and Binding Bra” because that’s a binder by another name and it’s not safe to bind and exercise. It is safe to wear one compression sports bra to work out though in general.
i'd like to achieve a more androgynous appearance, but I'm not out to my parents about being genderfluid yet, so I can't get a binder yet. I've been looking into maybe gettig a compression bra, but i'm not sure where to get one. Any advice?
Lee says:
I got one at Target, and one on the Underworks website. You can get them at any store that sells athletic clothing or sports bras. Just tell your fam you want to buy a sports bra coz you might start exercising or you need it for gym class or coz a friend told you it’s more comfortable.
Check out the Underworks MagiCotton Sports Bra and Binding Minimizer Bra if you want to buy one online, and athletic brands like Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Champion, etc. for sports bras if you’re in a store.
You can do the double-sports bra method if one doesn’t get you flat enough, so buy two of whatever you like the best.
Followers, feel free to recommend your fav compression sports bras if you have experience with any!
I have a sports bra, is there anyway to shrink it? Is it safe?
Lee says:You could try putting it in the dryer I guess, but you might want to buy a smaller one. Be careful with a small sports bra, you still have to be safe and make sure it isn’t as small as to be dangerous, and you don’t wear it for too long.
Followers, any suggestions for shrinking a sports bra?
So i want a good sports bra i can wear to bind when I'm not wearing my binder. So like after the 8 hours or when I know I wont be able to take it off in the 8 hour period when I'm sleeping or having sex stuff like that. So anyone have any good recommendations.
Kii says:
Anything used for binding, including compression sports bras, should not be worn for more than eight hours or slept in, so it seems like you want one for the wrong reasons. However, followers are welcome to recommend their favorite brands.
