Why are you willing to rewrite the answer to the same mundane question like six different times with all the patience in the world, but asking for more than one write-up on transtape (including maybe an updated version that utilizes new information and reviews) is super offensive?

i’d happily take a look at any updated information you have. I looked at the site and while they have more information added, the info that was the most dangerous: that they don’t mention not applying the tape to broken skin, and suggest treating broken skin with essential oil products, which is a basic essential of first aid/medical training and should have been essential for any adhesive-based product that has gone through any professional medical review or legal sign off prior to marketing.  This unprofessional marketing opens their product up to negligence lawsuits from an infection caused by blistering.  They do suggest to do a 30-minute patch test prior to use, but since contact dermatitis generally doesn’t appear within 30 minutes, this technique would be ineffective.  The typical test for this would be a minimum of 24 hours and sometimes as long as 5-7 days to conclusively rule out a reaction.  The specific type of adhesive (acrylic) has common allergic reactions/contact irritant dermatitis from the monomer form being left over in manufacturing defects.  I can’t speak for this specific product, but it’s very common for this type of adhesive product to be labeled hypoallergenic because it’s supposed to be, but to be contaminated in manufacturing.  This increases the risk of skin breakdown.  KT products “urge strong caution” in using kinotape for binding.  that’s just about the closest they can say to “don’t buy our product and use it this way” without actually saying it outright.  See the above paragraph for why this product addresses skin breakdown poorly, dangerously, and ineffectively.  I didn’t evaluate the testimonials, because that info is not useful to the safety of the product.  whether or not it makes you flat is not in question.  duct tape also might make you flat.   we generally are aware that it’s not a safe option. The updated site still retained conflicting information: apply to clean dry skin without lotions/ but apply this doterra product to the skin before application to minimize irritation. the essential construction of the tape, that it continually pulls without relaxing on the chest including ribcage.  Although the site suggests a wear time of up to 5 days, and encourages only partial rib/chest contouring, they don’t offer guidance on how to know when is too long to wear (pain, shortness of breath); what signs to look out for with regards to from too great of rib constriction (too much encircling of the tape).  They just say “don’t do it too much”They make additional medical claims (improves blood circulation) which leave them open to lawsuits unless they have research to back the claims.  What’s worse, now they’ve expanded their use to encourage its use on genitals- for gaff taping and for taping packers in place.  it is NEVER safe to tape genitals, not with this tape, not with kinotape, not with any medical adhesive(outside the direct guidance of a medical professional for treatment of a specific condition, due to the extreme risk of skin damage and infection).  even paper tape can harm delicate skin in this area.  If you don’t believe me (BSN educated nurse with an RN-BC), please ask your doctor.  so yes, for these listed reasons, transtape is a DANGEROUS product that could harm you in a permanent way that could involve expensive surgery or could be even fatal in an extreme case (severe infection from skin wounds).   The updated website has included information that seems to make it even more dangerous than when first rolled out.  WE STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM USING THIS PRODUCT FOR TAPING CHEST, and EVEN MORE STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM USING THIS PRODUCT FOR TAPING GENITALSmod mayhem

The Trump-Pence Administration is trying to undermine the Health Care Rights Law, a lifesaving law that helps transgender people access the health care they need without discrimination from health care providers or insurers. Now, the Department of Health and Human Services is proposing a regulation that falsely says discrimination against transgender people is legal.

Regulations don’t change the law, but they are meant to help people understand the law and follow it. Regulations (sometimes called “rules”) explain how the government interprets the law. Without clear and accurate regulations, businesses or officials may misunderstand the law or simply refuse to follow it.

While they can’t change the law, this new regulation would confuse patients, providers, and insurers, and make it much harder for many transgender people to access life-saving care.

In order to adopt or change a regulation, the government is required by a federal law to first get feedback from the public on what they think about the proposed change, by asking people to submit public comments.

The federal government must summarize and consider public comments before implementing a new rule. A large number of comments forces the government to study the issue closely and explain itself—and it’s the best way to show widespread public opposition. This can lead to a proposed regulation being slowed down, changed, or even abandoned.

Submitting comments is a way to make your voice heard directly by the people writing regulations that could have a big impact on your life. Tell the Trump Administration to treat us fairly and Protect Trans Health!

Tips:

1. Briefly introduce yourself (‘My name is ______ and I am against this proposed rule”)

2. State why you oppose the new rule (e.g. “I am against this proposed rule because it will make it harder for transgender people to obtain life-saving care”) and why it is important to you that transgender people can access health care without discrimination.

3. Share a time you or a loved one faced discrimination from a provider or insurer. Your story matters!

Submit your comment here TODAY! Comments must be submitted by the end of tomorrow, August 13th.

Today is the last day!!

This is really important so please take a moment to respond and submit a comment. Stand up for trans rights!

Just an FYI for those in the US with insurance issues

Important information! Insurance coverage decisions are made by medically ignorant bean-counters. Until we can dismantle the whole shitty system, know how to scare them into submission.

Screenshot of black plain text on a white background that reads the following:

MEDICAL HACK:

So your doctor ordered a test or treatment and your insurance company denied it. That is a typical cost saving method.

OK, here is what you do:

  1. Call the insurance company and tell them you want to speak with the “HIPPA Compliance/Privacy Officer” (By federal law, they have to have one.)
  2. Then ask them for the names as well as CREDENTIALS of every person accessing your record to make that decision of denial. By law you have a right to that information.
  3. They will almost always reverse the decision very shortly rather than admit that the committee is made of low paid HS graduates, looking at “criteria words,” making the medical decision to deny your care. Even in the rare case it is made by medical personnel, it is unlikely that it is made by a board certified doctor in that specialty and THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW THIS!
  4. Any refusal should be reported to the US Office of Civil Rights (OCR.gov) as a HIPAA violation.”

It feels necessary for me to mention that The American Psychiatric Association has openly stated that you do not need to suffer from dysphoria to be transgender and also acknowledges the existence of non binary genders.

Here is the link. Here’s a quote defining transgender:

Transgender is a non-medical term that has been used increasingly since the 1990s as an umbrella term describing individuals whose gender identity (inner sense of gender) or gender expression (outward performance of gender) differs from the sex or gender to which they were assigned at birth. Some people who use this term do not consider themselves as matching a binary gender category. In addition, new terms such as genderqueer, bigendered, and agendered are increasingly in use.”

Here’s the followup:

Not all transgender people suffer from gender dysphoria and that distinction is important to keep in mind. Gender dysphoria and/or coming out as transgender can occur at any age.

Here’s more about gender dysphoria.

Also, in early 2017 in Denmark it is no longer possible to “diagnose” someone with being transgender. Of course this doesn’t include dysphoria, just the act of being trans.

Gender Dysphoria is in the DSM-V, but being transgender is not. More on the changing of the terminology for the purpose of removing stigma.

Oh, and the American Psychological Association had something interesting to say, too:

Is being transgender a mental disorder?

A psychological state is considered a mental disorder only if it causes significant distress or disability. Many transgender people do not experience their gender as distressing or disabling, which implies that identifying as transgender does not constitute a mental disorder.”

Conclusion: if the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric association, the DSM-V, and Denmark’s laws all agree that being trans isn’t a mental disorder, I’d be happy to sit on that fence.

This took me literally 10 minutes of googling.

I’m gonna keep adding resources to support trans people! Trigger warning for suicide up ahead, just fyi.

Here’s a Harvard study about the neurological divergence between genders.

Key quotes:

“Those persons who identify as transgender (the “T” in many queer community acronyms) are those who identify with a gender that differs from their assigned sex… Though the typical assigned sexes are “male” and “female,” often designated at birth, being transgender does not limit gender identity to these two categories, as many who identify as transgender do not feel they are exclusively masculine or feminine.”

The essay conclusion:

Science tells us that gender is certainly not binary; it may not even be a linear spectrum. Like many other facets of identity, it can operate on a broad range of levels and operate outside of many definitions. And it also appears that gender may not be as static as we assume. At the forefront of this, transgender identity is complex – it’s unlikely we’ll ever be able to attribute it to one neat, contained set of causes, and there is still much to be learned. But we know now that several of those causes are biological. These individuals are not suffering a mental illness, or capriciously “choosing” a different identity. The transgender identity is multi-dimensional – but it deserves no less recognition or respect than any other facet of humankind.“

Summary: gender isn’t binary and being transgender isn’t a mental illness.

The World Health Organization no longer considers being transgender a mental illness.

“Removing the mental health label from transgender identity would be a powerful signifier of acceptance, advocates and mental health professionals say.“

oh, and to shut the REGs up:

Many, but not all, advocates favor the idea of keeping transgender in the codebook in some form because the designations are widely used for billing and insurance coverage of medical services and for conducting research on diseases and treatments.

IE: proof that you can declassify being transgender as a mental illness but rather recategorize it to reduce the spread of stigma while also allowing trans people to have care

Some truscum/reg type tried to tell me that “trans people are obviously mentally ill because of the high suicide rate!

YES, the high suicide rates stems from oppression, NOT because trans people are mentally fucked up inherently, because the suicide rate for INUIT TEENAGERS in Canada is THE WORST IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! It’s one of the leading causes of death among Aboriginal peoples in Canada.

Article quotes:

“But the biggest driver behind the staggeringly higher death rate among Inuit children and teens is suicide. The report, from Statistics Canada’s health analysis division, found that the suicide rate among children and teens in the Inuit homelands was 30 times that of youth in the rest of Canada during the five-year period from 2004 to 2008.”

and

“Suicide affects the youth in Indigenous communities more than any other demographic. Suicide occurs roughly 5 to 6 times more often among Indigenous youth than non-Indigenous youth in Canada.“

Here’s an interesting article about trans suicide rate (and also how race plays into it) and gives us percentages.

My point is that trans people aren’t inherently fucked up and don’t suffer from mental illnesses because they’re trans, they suffer from mental illnesses because they are an at-risk group like any other minority.

Truscum do not interact, these aren’t up for debate, these are articles. If you want me to add more to this list, hmu!

For all the truscum/transmeds coming to my blog, please read this!

Hey the first source included people who like to cross dress as trans which they are not so uh what

Hey! Which source are you talking about? The first one was the Expert Q and A, and this is what it had to say about crossdressing:

If a man likes to dress in women’s clothes but does not want to be a woman and otherwise lives typically as a male, does he have a psychiatric disorder? No. Such a desire is called transvestitism and it is not a psychiatric disorder.

Unless it was one of the other sources? I’m not super keen on the phrase “transvestitism” since it’s a bit dated, but it acknowledges that it’s a separate thing from being transgender.

Also the American Psychological Association link makes a point to say:

While transgender is generally a good term to use, not everyone whose appearance or behavior is gender-nonconforming will identify as a transgender person.

The way that it’d defined here explains the difference between gender nonconforming peoples and transgender, but some of the people use “transgender” as an umbrella term for any/all gender nonconforming identities, which isn’t exactly here-nor-there at best, inaccurate at worst.

Does that help at all? If not, tell me which source it was and I can fix it! :D

Wow!!! Over 1000 notes now! Heck, while we’re at it, let’s talk a little bit more about being nonbinary!

As many of you know, binary genders are a western construct. Here is a SUPER COOL INTERACTIVE EXPLORATION TOOL provided by the PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) that tells us about nonbinary cultures around the world! It’s an interactive map where you can click on pins and it’ll tell you information about the genders of the culture! It’s not super in depth, but it’s a great survey!

Website quote:

On nearly every continent, and for all of recorded history, thriving cultures have recognized, revered, and integrated more than two genders. Terms such as “transgender” and “gay” are strictly new constructs that assume three things: that there are only two sexes (male/female), as many as two sexualities (gay/straight), and only two genders (man/woman).
Yet hundreds of distinct societies around the globe have their own long-established traditions for third, fourth, fifth, or more genders. The subject of Two Spirits, Fred Martinez, for example, was not a boy who wanted to be a girl, but both a boy and a girl — an identity his Navajo culture recognized and revered as nádleehí. Meanwhile, Hina of Kumu Hina is part of a a native Hawaiian culture that has traditionally revered and respected mahu, those who embody both male and female spirit.
Most Western societies have no direct correlation for this tradition, nor for the many other communities without strict either/or conceptions of sex, sexuality, and gender. Worldwide, the sheer variety of gender expression is almost limitless. Take a tour and learn how other cultures see gender diversity.“

So basically, it’s not that “other cultures have nonbinary genders”, but more like “other cultures don’t have a gender binary to begin with! Gender is a construct and is constantly evolving.

A real anthropologist will never shit on you for making up a name for your gender. It doesn’t matter if “it’s silly”, you’re subverting the western tradition of the binary and that’s super rad!

Here’s the wikipedia page for genders around the world! Now, I don’t have to tell you that wikipedia can be edited by anyone really easily (how do I know? Me and three classmates made a page about a local artist. It took us 3 hours), so not all of the information is going to be accurate, but think of it as another good starting point before hitting the books!

And of course, Teen Vogue has been totally on it lately so here’s an article about genders around the world!

Here are some key quotes:

“But the reality is that transgender people have been striving for their rights in America before the 1960s, when a black trans woman named Marsha P. Johnson is credited by many for throwing the first brick during the Stonewall Inn riots, ushering in the start of a movement. Just years earlier, transgender people protested police crackdowns on their very existence in San Francisco at the Compton’s Cafeteria riots. Other moments of defiance exist, of course, but remain untold.
Half a century of struggle for trans rights in the U.S. is only one thread of a larger global tapestry. Employing a variety of genders beyond man and woman across the world, people who don’t identify with the gender they were assigned at birth have been working for centuries to guarantee their liberties since ancient times. The recent explosion of visibility might make the fight for trans rights seem like a recent development in the United States, but it’s a fight that’s been happening here for decades and around the world for centuries. Understanding that history will only help to inform the ongoing struggle for the liberation of gender-variant people everywhere.

And yes, those links in the first paragraph are clickable!

Summary of Vogue: trans people are NOT a contemporary phenomenon, but a historical one. They exist in cultures across the world and in our own culture dating back centuries and millennia.

I highly recommend taking a peek at the article, since there are TONS of links in there that you can take a look more trans history. JUST AS A WARNING: they are mostly articles written by blogs/newspapers/etc and therefore have singular author bias and I haven’t gotten my way through many of them yet to tell you which ones are good and which ones are bad, but it’s a great place to start digging for trans history! If you find anything really cool, please feel free to add it!

As per usual, trus.cum/ter.fs don’t interact. This is a place to spread knowledge, not a discussion board.

Free trans voice resources

Let’s be honest: voice dysphoria sucks. I’ve heard so many trans folks say that they hate their voice; that their voice is the one thing that disrupts their gender presentation; that they’ve developed secondary, avoidance behaviors to avoid speaking at whatever cost. Some trans folks stop offering their opinions at their workplace or amongst their friends. This loss of trans voices due to societal discrimination and internal dysphoria is a tragedy, and rebuilding one’s relationship with their voice may seem next to impossible. Those who have the means can seek the assistance of a speech-language pathologist; however, these services can be expensive, and not everyone is fortunate enough to have enough disposable income to seek skilled intervention.

Those who cannot (or simply don’t to) seek a speech-language pathologist’s help often attempt to alter their voice independently. Working on your voice without a speech therapist can be tough, but is absolutely not impossible! Many people have been successful at experimenting with their voice independently and finding a vocal presentation which works for them. As long as one approaches the experimentation from a vocally hygienic perspective, and doesn’t stress their voice too much while playing with presentation, one may very well be able to find a voice that causes them less distress independently. That said, if you frequently attempt to play with your voice, and find yourself frequently exhausted, out of breath, sore, hoarse, or tense, you are highly encouraged to stop experimenting with your voice independently and seek a speech-language pathologist’s assistance in experimenting with your voice.

With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s get to the resources! Though my business’ tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter, I publish a couple articles a month with free trans vocal training information for anyone looking to experiment on their own! If curious, please take a look at some of the subjects I’ve written about thus far:

I hope that these resources, along with ones I’ll publish in the future, are useful to the trans community. Finding one’s voice is an exhilarating, exhausting, and ultimately, very rewarding process for many. Be brave, be patient, be safe, and happy exploring!

Sleep Hygiene Protocol

To increase the likelihood of restfulness/sleep:

  1. Develop and follow a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends. Go to bed and get up at the same times each day, and avoid anything longer than a 10-minute nap during the day.
  2. Do not use your bed in the daytime for things like watching TV, talking on the phone, or reading.
  3. Avoid caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, heavy meals, and exercise late in the day before going to sleep.
  4. When prepared to sleep, turn off the light, keep the room quiet and the temperature comfortable and relatively cool. Try an electric blanket if you are cold; putting your feet outside of the blanket or turning on a fan directed toward your bed if you are hot; or wearing a sleeping mask, using earplugs, or turning on a ‘white noise’ machine if needed.
  5. Give yourself half an hour to at most an hour to fall asleep. If it doesn’t work, evaluate whether you are calm, or anxious (even if only “background anxiety”), or ruminating.
  6. DO NOT CATASTROPHIZE. Remind yourself that you need rest, and aim for reverse (i.e., dreaminess) and resting your brain. Sell yourself on the idea that staying awake is no a catastrophe, Do not decide to give up on sleeping for the night and get up for the “day”.

If you are calm but wide awake:

  1. Get out of bed; go to another room and read a book or do some other activity that will not wake you up further. As you begin to get tired and/or sleepy, go back to bed.
  2. Try a light snack (e.g., an apple)

If you are anxious or ruminating:

  1. Use the cold water TIP skill. Get right back in bed and do the paced breathing TIP skill. Remember, if you have any medical condition, get medical approval before using cold water.
  2. Try the 9-0 meditation practice. Breathe in deeply and breathe out slowly, saying in your mind the number 9. On the next breath out, say 8; then say 7, and so on until you breathe out saying 0. Then start over, but this time start with 8 (instead of 9) as you breathe out, followed by 7, and so on until you reach 0. Next start with 7 (instead of 8) as you breathe out, followed by 6. Next, start with 6 as you breathe out, and so on to 0. Then start with 5, then with 4, and so on until you have gone all the way down to starting with 1. (If you get lost, start over with the last number you remember). Continue until you fall asleep.
  3. Focus on bodily sensation of the rumination (rumination is often an escape from difficult emotional sensations)
  4. Reassure yourself that worries in the middle of the night are just ‘middle-of-the-night thinking,’ and that in the morning you will think and feel differently.
  5. Read an emotionally engrossing novel for a few minutes until you feel somewhat tired. Then stop reading, close your eyes, and try to continue the novel in your head.
  6. If rumination doesn’t stop, follow these guidelines: “If it’s solvable, solve it. If it is insolvable, go deep into the worry all the way to the ‘catastrophe’- the very worst outcome you can imagine- and then imagine coping ahead with the catastrophe.

If nothing else works, with eyes closed, listen to public radio at a low volume (use headphones if necessary). Public radio is a good choice for this because there is little fluctuation in voice tone or volume.

What is packing?

Packing is when an assigned female at birth person without a biological penis wears something in their pants in order to mimic the appearance or function of having a penis. Usually, trans-masculine people pack but anyone is allowed to and able to if they are interested in doing so (despite the language in the links which is geared towards trans guys). Some AFAB people just aren’t interested in any of this; that’s totally ok and vald.

To be quite honest, packing usually doesn’t make or break passing, if passing is something you care about. You don’t have to pack to pass as a guy in most circumstances! In general, if you aren’t swimming in a speedo, peeing at a urinal, changing in front of others, or getting groped/felt up, people won’t notice if you don’t have a penis. Packing doesn’t help everyone’s dysphoria either; some people find that it can make them feel worse, because they’re more aware of the part that they’re “missing”.

What do I want?

(Read the links! They go way more in depth than this post.)

Before rushing into a purchase, it’s important to consider what you’re looking for. You may be able to make a basic packer or STP yourself. That can save you money, and help you decide if you want to purchase a product.

Single-function items that are either just for packing, just for peeing, or just for sex are often less expensive than multiple function ones. If only one aspect bothers you, like if you only want to be able to pee standing up, then looking at only STP devices would be a good place to start, for example.

If you’re looking for something that can be used to pack and have sex with, or pack and pee with, or pack, pee, and have sex with, the price starts to rise (if you aren’t making something yourself and you’re buying something).

Choosing the size of your packer

I’m making this a whole section because I have very strong feelings on this issue. Let’s say you’ve decided you’re going to buy a soft packer. You’re looking at the different models online. You’ve chosen one, and now you need to pick a size.

If you are packing without the intention of having sex with your packer, you want it to look like a flaccid penis, not an erection. There’s a lot of pressure to have a big ol’ dick, but I want you to know that it is not what most cis men with penises have in their pants. Yes, 3.5 inches is the average flaccid penis size- this means that about half of all men have a flaccid penis that’s a bit bigger, and half have a flaccid penis that’s a bit smaller. Everyone’s got a different penis, and it’s okay if you’re bigger or smaller than average, but I think it’s extremely important to be aware of what the average is so you are making a conscientious choice to go bigger or smaller. Penises get larger when they’re erect, so if you’re getting a dildo or a hard packer, you should consider if you want to go larger or not, but if you’re just soft packing, I want you to take a moment and think about it; I know your instinct is to go for a medium or large sized packer, but the labeling is deceiving. What packer companies label as “small” is usually the average size flaccid penis; “medium” is usually bigger than average. It’s harder to pack with a larger packer than it is with a smaller packer, larger packers are often more expensive than smaller ones, and large packers are often not realistically flaccid lengths and look like hard-ons.

I’m not saying that no cis men have large flaccid penises; that isn’t true. I am saying that the media makes it seem like men on average have larger penises than they do. Men in porn usually have larger than average size penises, and they’re usually erect, which means they’re sometimes double the length of the flaccid penis. Because society makes having a larger penis seem enviable, men sometimes overstate the size of their penis if you ask them because they’re worried that their penis is small. Small penis jokes made to emasculate men continue to perpetrate the myth of the Ubiquitous Large Dick because nobody wants to admit that their penis is small. Let’s have some radical body acceptance up in here and say that it’s okay to have whatever size penis or packer you have, and it doesn’t make you unmanly to have a small one, or extra-masculine to have a large one.

I want you to look at a ruler. Stop reading this post, get up, get a ruler, and come back. Okay? Now measure out the length of the average flaccid penis. Three and a half inches. Look at it. Now look at the length of the packer you were considering buying. How different is it? This is an activity to make you more mindful of what size is average. Pay attention to the the junk of the guys you see in the street and who you interact with on the daily. Chances are you can hardly notice a dick print, especially if you’re at work or at school. Even the Nude standing men gallery on Wikipedia is somewhere to start.

Below is a paragraph from Hudson’s FTM guide saying the same thing:

In order to see what male anatomy tends to look like in underwear, in swim trunks, or jeans or slacks, it can be helpful to look at men’s clothing catalogs or internet retailers of menswear or men’s underwear– this way, you can stare as much as you want at guys’ crotches without having to worry about offending or upsetting anyone. The web site www.erectionphotos.com has a “soft/hard” section, showing penises in both flaccid and erect states. It shows variation in the size and shape of men’s penises, and shows men of varying body types and ages. Searching the web for “flaccid penis photos” will yield other results as well. Just keep in mind while you are looking that the average length for a flaccid penis tends to be just over 3 inches, and that the men you see in most porn sites and movies will tend to be very well-endowed, and will usually be shown while erect.

I’m trying to save you from falling into the trap of buying a big dick for the hell of buying a big dick without considering it. Packer companies will try to lure you into buying a bigger packer because they make more money that way. It’s just a body part, y’all, let’s not get too caught up in the hype. Don’t buy into toxic masculinity! There’s nothing wrong with having a small penis. There’s nothing wrong with having an average penis.

The below graph shows the frequency of certain size penises in centimeters. (X)

  1. One study showed the mean flaccid penis length to be 3.5 inches (8.9 cm)
  2. A review of several studies found the average flaccid length to be 3.5–3.9 inches (9–10 cm)

Alright, I think you get the point. Flaccid penises aren’t as big as you might think they are. Now, I’m going to admit something: I have multiple packers, and they range in size from 4″ to 7.5″. Yeah, 7.5″ is big. It’s almost unrealistically big. I am not telling you that you can’t buy a big packer if you want a big packer; I have a large packer myself. Yes, getting a smaller packer is usually better to start out with if you’re new to packing. But if you’re experienced with packing or if you just really want a big packer, go ahead and get one! You may not be striving for realism and that’s 100% okay. And even though 3.5″ is the average flaccid penis size, there are people with larger penises! Penis size doesn’t correlate to your height, race, foot size, as some myths suggest. A smaller person could have a larger penis and a tall person could have a smaller one, the two variables aren’t dependant! The point of this paragraph is just to make sure that you’re making a conscious decision if you choose to get a packer that’s larger than usual knowing that it may be a bit unwieldy, not to police your packer buying. Some people have larger packers and they can pack easily with them and love them, and that’s a-okay.

Spend time researching packers!

Look through different websites to see the packers available for purchase. Read reviews of the packers on forums and on Tumblr. Watch YouTube reviews of packers. Contact people about their packers and ask them questions if they’re open to it! This post is just a very cursory and topical overview of packers, it’s not all there is to know. There is so much out there on different blogs! Trawl the net, ask Dark Google what the best dick is (that’s a joke, but yeah, google ftm packers and stp packers and pack and play packers or whatever you want!) Make sure you know how much money you’re willing to spend buying a packer. Start to save up money if you’re broke.

Sidenote: Genitals can be a shade or two darker than the rest of your skin, so you might want to choose a packer one tone darker than your thigh. However, I urge you to be cautious with this- you don’t want a packer that’s way too dark for you! If you’re white, you shouldn’t be getting a black penis, that’s Too Far.

Make sure you read multiple reviews before you buy a packer, because some companies are scams or just shitty. Three companies to avoid are below:

  • don’t shop at packer locker (It’s a scam and I personally lost $15 dollars from them that I never got back and others have lost more)
  • don’t shop at The Ultimate Prosthetic (This is also a scam and people have lost hundreds of dollars and never recieved products)
  • don’t shop at FtmConnect (the owner is racist and the packers aren’t even that great anyway)

How Do I Actually Buy One?

Method one: You have a credit/debit card.

1. Pick a packer

2. Buy the packer. Clear your internet history. Make sure the invoice is sent to an email that only you have access to.

3. Either have it shipped to your house or to a friend’s house if your parents will be suspicious.

Method 2: You have cash

1. Go into a store and buy a prepaid VISA card. Make sure you have picked out a packer in advance and know the total cost plus shipping, because you will need to make sure you have enough money for the card. (You can also ask a friend to do this if you can’t drive or otherwise get to a store on your own)

2. Buy the packer. Put the name on the card as “Visa” in the payment section of the website. Clear your internet history. Make sure the invoice is sent to an email that only you have access to.

3. Either have it shipped to your house or to a friend’s house if your parents will be suspicious.

Please feel free to reblog with more information on packing, or more helpful links if you know any!

This post will be occasionally updated if new info is needed, so contact me if a link is broken. This post is also okay and encouraged to be reblogged!
