we had another loss here.
early Monday morning Fate passed away. she was an almost 21 year old cat that was starting to show her age so it wasn’t unexpected, but happening less than a month after we lost Furb really hit hard, especially when you consider it’s been less than a year since we lost Sir Francis the drake too (followed by Frosch passing in her sleep then hawks getting Nine and Sweetie Pie) on top of the stress with dad’s cancer diagnosis and health complications related to all that.
we’re also getting ready to fix up the apartment side of the house so my dad and I are both in there and we can rent out the main side of the house to help pay for dad’s medical bills. my friend I give rides to work to is going to move in on the house side for the same cost per month as her current place since it benefits everyone that way. we can help her more and she can help us. it’s going to feel weird but it’s the best option right now.
that said, dad’s had another bladder scope and he’s still looking cancer free. we’ve got three more months of maintenance treatments lined up and then we’re going to see his urologist again and decide if it’s worth it to do more or not considering his insurance doesn’t want to cover them near as much now that he’s cancer free even tho his doctor thinks he should have at least 12 once a month treatments just to be careful.
Crash dragged me to the mall half an hour away today. I almost didn't go but they got a sushi/ramen kiosk there where they train people for a nearby sushi place so it's good sushi for a good price even if the selection is a little limited so I caved.
I made one practical purchase (an electric brush for reducing hair frizz and straightening although with my hair it doesn't completely straighten it that well), got three cheap pieces of Demon Slayer merch from the Boxlunch (I guess one of those counts as practical too since they're slippers), got a clearance markdown Build A Bear (Tom Nook), and then wound up getting this small friend.
I could not say no to an adorable gryphon hatchling.
Apparently my ex-friend also reached out to my friend down the street from me too yesterday. I don't know why she'd think to contact Crash since while she use to be friends with Crash too it was the ex-friend who decided Crash wasn't worth being friends with anymore, unless they were hoping it could be a way to force interaction with me.

This is possibly the most wrong thing I have seen on a click bait article ever. The more you look, the worse it gets.
It claims to be an X-ray of a pregnant horse.
There are several faults with that assumption:
- It is an old school film X-ray, about the size of an A4. It is no way big enough to X-ray an entire horse.
- An X-ray machine big enough to X-ray an entire horse does not exist, and would pump out obscene amounts of radiation if it did.
- That ‘horse’ is lying down. Good luck with that.
- Something very creative is happening with its front legs, feet, hocks and skeleton in general.
- It has no internal organs.
- The thing it is ‘pregnant’ with is mostly situated within the thorax.
- The thing it is ‘pregnant’ with appears to be a dog.
- The ‘dog’ appears to be ‘pregnant’ with a cat.
- The ‘cat’ appears to be ‘pregnant’ with… possibly a rat?

Things have been shitty as heck here.
My fatigue levels are high enough that I've been laying down a good chunk of each day. The flock outside is down to the three light Brahmas and Big Duck (after we lost Frosch a hawk got Nine then Sweetie Pie about two weeks later), Furb developed some health issues which got really bad on Wednesday and we lost her too. She was the last critter I got while mom was still alive and the last cat we got while we still had Ash too, plus Ash found her out by the pond in back when she was only 5 weeks old so I raised her from a tiny kitten too.
Then to top everything off this morning my ex-friend emailed me trying to get me to be friends with her again. She and her ex stalked me, attempted to corner me at a convention to "fuck with me", possibly snuck into my house to sabotage my computer and car once (I never had solid proof it was them, but there were too many coincidences), and she was telling people I was a hacker who got her banned from places as well as lying by claiming I tried to rape her and telling people I was faking being disabled too. That's not even going into why I ended my friendship with her in the first place. She's basically one of the last people I ever want to hear from.
So right now I am basically in one of the worst kind of moods you can be in, grieving over one thing while pissed as hell over another.

there’s still no heat on my side of the house so I ordered a hooded long fleece lined wearable blanket and thick wool socks off of Amazon. I also stole one of the space heaters from my dad for my room.
My socks arrived and are nice but my wearable blanket got delayed for some reason. Also, my dad had me switch out the space heater I had in my room for one that barely keeps my room in the upper 60’s (while he gets to enjoy being in part of the house that’s in the mid 70’s)
looks like I got my early Christmas present for myself before the wearable blanket. I ordered that straight from the manufacturer and picked the free shipping option so I was expecting that to arrive at least half a week after I was expecting the wearable blanket.
it’s a good thing it arrived early, since it’s a better quality vaporizer for use with the marijuana I take for my fibro. it charges faster and is much easier to clean, it came with dosing pods and a dosing pod grinder so I don’t have to use it to full capacity and it makes low dosing a whole lot easier and cleaner. it can hold more than the old one too, which means on a really bad day it’s easier to do a larger dose. with my side of the house as cold as it is I’m more likely to have really bad days until the heater gets fixed.
my dad just came into my side of the house. he opened the breezeway door into this side and I hear “WHOAH! IS THIS COLD!”
dad just came into my room to tell me something wearing his snowsuit for working outside in the winter. he has not gone outside today.
I checked the temp in the livingroom on my side of the house. it’s 45F in there.
it is SEVENTY-FUCKING-SEVEN DEGREES in dad’s side of the house. he is not the one who gets severe pain from the cold.
