There should be an age limit to voters, like 50

and they should lower the minimum age to 16 because shit son there’s old people voting for the future of the young ones and they’re ruining it

No. I know this is just anger and no one really wants to take the right to vote away from the elderly. But it’s misplaced anger. Old people are not the enemy.

Do NOT underestimate the importance of the older women who remember when women died because they couldn’t get abortions or ended up trapped in abusive marriages because divorce was not an option, the older black people who remember the Civil Rights movement and the time before it, the older LGBT people who remember when being queer was illegal, and all the other older folks who fought for the rights we enjoy today and risked their lives to do it. We need these people. We need their strength and support, and we need to support them in turn.

And for that matter, do not overestimate the young white Christian conservatives who are convinced of the righteousness of their hateful views because they’ve never stepped outside the bubble of what they were taught to believe in. These people exist too. Believe me, I’ve met a lot of them.

Not all old people are white, straight, rich, male conservatives. Hell, not all older white straight men are conservatives (you wanna take the right to vote away from Bernie Sanders?). Not all young people are on our side. This divide isn’t in age, but in bigotry, so let’s not put the blame on the older poor, black, Latino, female, and/or LGBT people who turned out to the polls yesterday to take a stand for Hillary, even when it was not easy for them to do so.

(FTR I’m not trying to start a fight with or browbeat the person I reblogged this from. It’s just easy to see a mental picture of some old one percenter and forget the rest of the story.)

FREEZERBABIES HISTORY LESSON

During the 5 year hunt, Yang and Weiss got injured resulting in the majority of Yang's hair being chopped off and the scars on her back and arm. The incident also cause Weiss to lose her right hand when she pushed Yang out of the way. Weiss got a new robotic dust powered hand, via Atlas with Mr. Ironwood and Penny. Yang also took up a job as a professor at Beacon. Combat Training.
