headcanon that the main four ninja are sixteen in the first two seasons and then there’s a two year time skip so they’re eighteen in season three when they start teaching
I feel like ninjago does a really good job of making the characters entertaining and not one dimensional. Even in the earliest two seasons, where it’s obvious Kai and Lloyd are pretty much the main characters, all the other ninja are still well-rounded and entertaining characters. Zane’s not just the weird robot, Cole’s not just the strong character, Jay’s not just the funny character. They’re still main characters and treated like main characters, even if the seasons do focus a little more on Kai’s acceptance of not being the green ninja and then Lloyd’s battle with his father. I can’t think of many shows that are clearly geared towards kids that do the same thing, at least not shows that haven’t come out in the past few years.
I dunno, I think it’s one of the reasons that ninjago has stood the test of time for me.
HELP I just watched the ninjago episode Wrong Place Wrong Time and ITS LITERALLY INSPIRED BY BTTF AND I NEVER REALIZED because
1. Lloyd is disappearing from a photograph
2. Sensei Wu says Great Scott!
3. THEY GET THE PAST VERSION OF SENSEI WU’S HELP JUST LIKE MARTY GOT PAST DOC’S HELP
4. They completely mess up time lmfao but they are desperately trying to get it back on track just like bttf
5. when they return to the future they’ve changed certain events!!! just like bttf!!! and they think Lloyd is still gone at first!!! just like Marty thinking the doc is still dead!!!
anyway I died laughing when I realized this
