my dead girlfriend / Shojoskip, sweet days and her last kiss, 2008
Intimate and hypnotic. The opening track from My Bloody Valentine’s long awaited third studio album ‘MBV’ let’s us know right away the kind of emotional level this project will present. With roaring, weeping guitars creating this endearing wall of noise, the track subjects us to it’s sentimental yearnings and invites us to connect with the emotion displayed all throughout the LP’s 9 tracks. This song feels like laying down with someone you love in the late hours of the night; longing for the unity to never end, while still facing the inevitable doom of the romance.
