Art style change comments - I know Charlie's gotten a little different but I don't think I could actually articulate how unless comparing old and new him side by side. Hetch's face shape being softer is probably the most noticable difference to me.

For the most part though, the comic is so visually cohesive! By which I don't mean that it's stagnant at all, but even some of the most professional comics in the webcomic biz have struggled with that, to the point that a lot of artists go back and spend their energy trying to redraw old comics to match their new style. (Which I can't comment on for their own choices but it is a little sad to me? It's going to necessarily be jarring at some point.)

I know at least part of that is because the comic has only had like four months, where some of the comics I'm talking about have taken decades. But in terms of sheer output, I think HTFASJ is a rival for most of them.

We've hit well over a thousand answers in the archive - admittedly some of them were text-only but considering how many answers spanned multipe pages, I feel safe calling it at least 1000 pages.

Compare for instance, Gunnerkrigg Court. Since you could argue that a lot of HTFASJ answers are a single panel, I'm comparing page 2 against only page 356:

Or another for-instance, DMFA's 1st page vs 981st (since those comic's pages are shorter and more comparable):

You can see how it might be difficult for people to archive-binge, or to recommend others to the comic because of the changes? I wouldn't ever call art/style development like that a bad thing, but the way this comic bucks the trend is really impressive to me.

I also was giong to comment on Hetch's lack of eye bags here, but... the last day of the comic, he didn't have them either ;U;
