Funnily in history you normally have to go "well, it's complicated", but in Caesar's case I feel like you can pretty safely go "oh, he was a bad guy" and keep going.

(imo it’s cool how guys like caesar and brutus were used to represent basically any position or ideology—you get some of that with napoleon but by the 20th century, it seems everyone is pretty locked into a symbolic meaning)
