I haven't felt a strong desire to go back to those in so long (it didn't help that I was writing three of them almost at the exact same time), however they really helped me develop some writing skills and I enjoyed that so many writers enjoyed them.

If I went back, I'd either do Link to the Past, Wind Waker, or–most likely–Majora's Mask.

Link to the Past would obviously be a continuation of the alternate final chapter of Time’s Trade since that fic established a Fallen timeline, and the six maidens would be boys in this instance. I recall that I established that version of Zelda as a big reader and hopeful writer, so I think that would be a continuation. I don’t think I’d adapt anything from the manga or comic book. However, I don’t think I’d spend too much time focusing on the dungeons.

Also, I think I established that the Master Sword is cursed in this timeline–that no one of the royal family is allowed to touch it or else.

Wind Waker would be interesting because It would be Tetra, though it’s just a name that was given to her while her birth name would be confirmed to be Zelda. (As for that one transformation… I don’t think I would do it here because some people nowadays feel that Tetra had to be white-washed in order to be Zelda, which has unfortunate implications. That is something I’d want to try to avoid). I think unlike Link her bluntness/being rude would turn a lot of characters off, but her better qualities would be admirable at the same time. (Like she would just flat out tell Komali to stop whining and hiding in his room because it’s not going to do him any good now or ever. Also, considering what I established regarding the Master Sword, You-Know-Who would especially be delighted with this version of Zelda.)

I think since Link is now the pirate captain, the pirates would be a bit more noble/more Robin Hood and his merry men. Aryll is either with him or Grandma… who is secretly the former badass pirate captain who retired.

Majora’s Mask would be interesting because I established that some bad shit went down in the child timeline before Ganondorf was defeated and sealed away. Zelda is dealing with her own five stages of grief because of those events (in addition to the loss and trauma from the adult timeline), so MM would be all about healing and moving on.

I also established that Tael would be swapped with Tatl, but he and Zelda aren’t the only ones to get the treatment. Anju and Kafei would swap roles as well as Mikau and Lulu. (Those who lead to the creation of the other transformations wouldn’t get swapped or gender swapped–they’d stay as is).

Also I admit it would be interesting to get to write Skull Kid. But especially Majora itself because of how utterly evil and childish it is.
