For the Disney Princess Ask; Jasmine.
(I may be a little biased here since Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie)
–I love that not only that she doesn’t want to settle in a relationship, but that she didn’t like ‘Prince Ali’s’ stuck up and very assuming ego, even if it was Aladdin in disguise. And yeah, she’s on point about girls not wanting to be seen as someone’s ‘prize.’ (And in the live action version, I loved that she wanted to be able to rule her kingdom without marriage and I feel that she earned that right without having to fall into a Mary Sue route).
–I think she should have done her research before escaping the palace. She should have known not everything was going to be for free and would cost money (which sadly said a lot about how sheltered she was).
–Aladdin is very good! It’s one of the best of the Disney Renaissance films as well as having Robin William’s best film role period (May he be resting in peace). I love the animation and designs too. And I’m glad to see the Islamic religion has a bit of representation in there, even if its not more than a “Praise be Allah!”
–A “Whole new World is good” but Genie’s “Friend like Me” beats it to the punch (and the animated/live action mash up version on youtube is pure awesome). Its just fun and zany, and my favorite part is “Can you say Abra Kadabra, let ‘er rip” for some reason. If we are doing the live action version, I love “Speechless” as that is a wonderful, powerful song for Jasmine and I feel like that song must be relatable for a lot of people (it sure as hell is better than “Let it Go” if I had to make a choice).
–I always loved cats and her having a freaking tiger is amazing! None of the Disney Princesses have an animal friend like Rajah and I was happy to see that he was included in the film (and I’m glad he wasn’t a live action animal as that would have been hard for everyone on set–tiger included). Genie is a close second because... well, he’s the Genie!
Of course, if its the live action version, then Dalia is my favorite for being an awesome friend and being so adorkable.
–I don’t want to settle for just anyone and I don’t want some rude a-hole who is full of himself either.
–Aladdin would be somewhere below Eric. I get that he wants more out of life and I like that he can be selfless and compassionate despite not being able to afford food for himself. And his cunningness is a good trait. However I value honesty and I personally would have a hard time wanting to stick with a guy who kept lying to me (especially because its happened to me in real life a few times).
–Like Ariel probably somewhere in the middle. She's somewhere above Cinderella and Snow White.
