what rlly gets me abt the “doctor take me with you!” moment is that it’s expectation subversion, at least based on everything i’ve ever seen.

like, how many times have you seen this Exact Scenario where the big evil villain finally becomes super mega powerful and is in their #WinningEra and there henchman/minion or whatever wants to be part of the big epic plan, only to get left behind because, well they’re just some minor character, why would the Big Bad care about them now they they’ve reached the top? it’s a common trope, you’ve probably seen it before, but like . that’s where the expectation subversion comes in.

not only does robotnik not leave stone behind, he gets his own little space in the giant evil robot which robotnik plans to take over the world in. it’s very… hmmmmm . interesting
