daydreaming until my brain hurts

I am a female artist and an aspiring writer. I love video games (like the Legend of Zelda), anime, musical theater, etc. Sometimes I can focus too much on certain things.

Today's Mollytober prompt is 'Wraith' and I knew I wanted to do something like this.

I always wanted to do this image of Wraith Molly and Scratch with their human forms reflected in some way in the same image (be it in a painting or a mirror), even long before I knew what Scratch's human identity was. (I do admit I've done a similar drawing before, just not the way I had in my mind).

And then I just realized that I might have been loosely inspired by a Beauty and the Beast book illustrated by Jan Brett from my childhood (where it's the same idea-the true identities of the Beast and his staff are reflected in paintings and tapestries.)

Side note–I know Scratch's human physical appearance is slightly different when wearing that outfit, but I wanted it to look as if his soul was intact still.

Mind if I request some stuff with Wraith Molly wearing the Chairman's robe, though she keeps the hood down because I think she'd look cuter that way than with said hood over her head?

Honestly I think that'd be cute. (I also included human!wraith!Molly because I recalled my idea of the robe changing forms depending on who wears it. It would have a lot of sparkles involved.)

A ghostly theory that connects Gravity Falls and The Ghost and Molly Mcgee.

There’s a huge part of me that wants to believe that Gravity Falls and The Ghost and Molly Mcgee take place within the same universe, and I came upon some interesting ideas that support just how close that could be, as well as what could happen if Scratch (as a ghost) ever came to Gravity Falls.

So let’s get the obvious out of the way–the way ghosts are depicted in the shows are completely different. GF ghosts retain a somewhat human appearance, while TGAMM ghosts only have slight elements of their original human forms.

So there’s no way they could be in the same universe, correct?

When I think about it, Molly was willing to take a huge risk/make a sacrifice like Stan did (in her case, her mortal human life–she would have been screwed if she didn't have those joy powers).

Did some more TGAMM humanized redraws for the fun of it, but in color (most of them being from the season 1 finale, and one of these is a redraw of a redraw). Also I was more focused on the characters which is why the backgrounds aren’t so great.

I knew eventually I’d have to do the Ghost Council and The Chairman. But the weird thing is, my mind was thinking ‘Well the hair on most of those guys would look like judge’s wigs’ and then ‘Ah hell, I’m already following the rules of musical theater costuming, I’ll just have all their hair look unnatural.’ Also, I admit it’s hard to imagine The Chairman looking human or even anything close to human, so I opted for a very unnatural/grotesque design. I also tried to tweak Molly’s wraith dress so the bottom would look more like a flower/resemble the lower half of a ghost a bit more.

(For anyone wondering why there’s a huge rip in Scratch’s clothes in most of these drawings, it’s thanks to Jinx’s scythe.)
