So Jason and Piper went on a quest together which resulted in monsters who wanted to stop them blah blah blah you know the rest. Chiron had sent them to retrieve an antidote to cure some sickness he had. Recently he had fallen ill and told them to go get a cure, so now Jason and Piper were battling a Minotaur who was keeping the cure locked away. Let’s just say it wasn’t going so well. They had been fighting this thing for what felt like forever so now it was time to pull out the big guns.

“Jason!” Piper dodged a charge from the Minotaur. “Use the lighting so we can get this damn thing!”

“Why don’t you charmspeak it again?” Jason yelled.

“We’ll if it didn’t work the first time, it’s not gonna work again!”

Jason was higher up trying to find a weak spot in its armor. When they arrived to the Minotaur’s place, it walked out decked in armor as if it somehow knew it was going to fight that day.

“Just use your lightning on it or something!” Piper punched the butt of her knife in the monsters face and had a little victory moment when it stumbled backwards. But it wasn’t over yet. He came back charging at her again. Is that all this thing does? She dodged the charge and landed where Jason was floating.

“Look. I’m going to need you to do something with lightning because that’s the only way we can get the antidote for horse guy back at camp.”

“Piper, you’re too close. If I summon lighting then I could hit you,” Jason narrowed his eyes in concern and floated down in front of her.

“I’ll be fine. I promise, I’m going to move over to those trees over there. Just give me a heads up first.”

“Okay.”

She ran to give Jason more room and led the Minotaur to the center of the field. She looked up and saw him give her a thumbs up. She ran to the tree and waited for the lighting. Suddenly a hot white flash happened before her eyes and when she looked out, she saw the monster down on its side unmoving. She also saw Jason laying next to it and all her worst fears came rushing up. She ran to him and start shaking him with tears in her eyes.

“Jason…Jason wake up. Please,” she choked on her words.

“Pipes, I’m alright,” he said his voice raspy.

“W-what happened? I thought your lightning couldn’t hurt you?”

“Yeah well when you’re learning how to use your powers things can go a little haywire at times. Lighting can’t kill me, but until I get it in control, I can blackout for a bit.”

Piper hugged him, but pulled away only to smell something burning. She scanned his whole body to see all of his clothes burned, and some bright purple boxers that read SPQR in bright yellow letters.

“You got those from the gift shop in New Rome didn’t you?”
