I agree with that Dabikillmygroove person who’s may I say I loved their user name 😂 I don’t particularly like the character(neutral on him) but it made me chuckle when I saw their name, anyways I agree with everything you have said but I also agree with them on the not necessarily against them visiting Touya. Because I personally am not against them going to visit Touya, to talk and whatever BUT I don’t like that we don’t get them sharing harsh talks with him or being angry or upset, like a little critique wouldn’t of hurt! Enji faced a lot of critique, which is fair enough as he did do wrong and cause harm, so it should only feel right that Touya faced that too!

Tbh, in the state he is in, maybe a little argument would have made him die, which is very cruel on Horikoshi's part. We can see how even the talk they had made his heart race too much 🥴

The way LoV faces so little criticism is probably what makes me like their characters less

In that regard I saw people say Endeavor was punished with being paralyzed waist down for having too many children -_-; and that either it was because of the fire/ice craziness of the family quirks or him faling with his skeleton son from quite a height

I find it gross when becoming disabled or ill is portrayed as a punishment for something. The idea is deeply ableist, in my opinion, and reminds me of Christian fanatics

It wouldn't make that much sense for him to receive damage from falling when it was explicitly stated he can "prevent himself from falling" with his quirk. He could've smoothed the landing

I can’t believe Touya even survived, like why did Hori even have him live? Like sure he’s dying a slow death now but the last time we saw him he had like one arm gone, his other arm you could see the bones, one of his eyes was gone he was basically a skeleton….he should have died on that battlefield! Realistically no one survives that!(I get it’s fictional so I guess anything is possible but still) Though honestly to me it feels like Hori doesn’t stay consistent with his injuries and consequences to said injuries - Enji loses and arm, gets a punctured rib and sure his feet are severely burnt so now he’s wheelchair bound, but All Might suffered sever injuries and look at him! Mirko lost limbs look at her!

On another note, I want to know what lotion he used for his hair because my gosh how that shit managed to stay intacted all the way till the end of the battle is amazing 😂🤣 I mean they probably shaved it off to fit him in that tank thingy but still!

Avatar

I don't know why! I supposed he really wanted to have him talk with his family one last time? Maybe he imagined him telling Shouto he likes soba and thought, "That is genius. I must put it in no matter what. ".... Bruh, at this point, was it even humane to keep him alive like this? No amount of painkillers could help him deal with this amount of damage. It must hurt like hell, every minute. How is he even conscious to begin with???

Horikoshi is really bad with injuries and treatment consistencies. At times, it feels like medicine has progressed centuries ahead, but sometimes it is not that different? With all the quirks, there must be talented doctors doing wonders, like Recovery Girl! We see how crazy prosthetics are with Miruko

Oh, and speaking about Miruko. I really hated the way he treated her, making her constantly lose limbs and adding more and more prostethics without any recovery or rehabilitation. It feels almost pornographic to me. And the fact he does that with a female character like 🤨 Writer's barely disguised fetish⁉️

Characters in manga never get bald, no matter if they were thrown in a fire or had brain surgery. Their hair is intact. Except Deku, but that honestly was so careful, like they shaved just a bit, and it looked almost stylish... Be brave and make your character get a buzzcut... bald... make them wear a wig. idk. I like realism in small things like this. It's not that scandalous

I don't even get how Enji is sitting in a wheelchair while Toshi isn't. AFO took Enji's arm and he got maybe hurt, but never in the spine...

Ig All Might is really built different lmao

Broo how I didn't see this ask until now

I don't quite understand what happened to Enji either. It seems he had severe burns but it doesn't explain how he can't walk. I guess Horikoshi needed to make him disabled (as a punishment?) but he didn't care to research... Much more gruesome injuries resulted in the person jumping back to action... (Literally Miruko)

All Might has so much plot armor he can walk past death flags without blinking. Man is not even graying. He might be a god?

"He ruined their lives" 😭 literally, I get that Touya is family and all that, and there's complicated feelings amongst the Todofam BUT like it's a bit wild that they all want to talk to him(at least Enji, Fuyumi & Rei do, not sure on Natsuo), I guess it's because technically he's dying so I guess they want to change it this time 🤷‍♀️ like this time they're with him! Also why so "forgiving" or like no anger?! Shouto wanting to know Touya's favourite food, I liked it but surely he should be at least a bit angry(I guess he did critique during their fight but still) and I don't think we're meant to take that as forgiveness but that's definitely not anger or criticism! Like maybe we're to think that maybe some harsh words were shared with him off-screen(like in future visits), because sure have your guilt your grief and all that but you must have some harsh truths you got to say to him?! right?! Like I'm not necessarily against them visiting Touya, because he is dying and the family probably would heal better with closure but it's the lack of critique or anger on their part!

However, I don't think he ruined their lives completely, at least not in the sense in that they won't ever be happy again. We've got Shouto moving forward, and making a name for himself and his future seems pretty bright. Fuyumi lost her job, but she got a new one thanks to a friend etc.

Yeah, Horikoshi simplifies the situation A LOT because he wants to make a feel-good story where two such different and separated brothers talk about their favorite food. I think this is a classic "I want the plot to go there, so I don't really care if it makes sense"

Rei was not thought out as a character at all. She acts more or less the way the plot needs her to act and the way a "mother" character would. Tbh mha is not a feminist masterpiece, so I wouldn't expect any deep dives into female psychology. Uraraka vs Bakugou fight was the biggest statement ever for Horikoshi, and it's nothing new. So perhaps he had no idea what to do with someone with such a complex history as Rei's. So, yeah, she wants to talk to Touya because she is his mother and that what a mother would want to do

Fuyumi... In the manga, she appears so well put together, but god, in real life, she would need to go to therapy for 10 years, at least. Like, she represents the type of victim that forgives (in short) vs Natsuo who doesn't and lowkey Horikoshi wants to represent that both are ok, but he makes them almost a caricature? Natsuo is much more well-done but Fuyumi... Even if she forgives he father and wants him to be better and forgives her brother and wants him to die surrounded by family it doesn't mean she must NEVER get angry. Not even once. She looks like such a people-pleaser and "everyone should act nicely" and "shove your feelings deep inside" and I am not buying that shit as being ok. She is not ok but the narrative pushes that she is fine idk man. You had to quit your job because your brother turned out to be a terrorist!!! Please, have a reaction

And in general, it is just so so horrible for the entire family. Here is your dying mass murderer arsonist member of a terrorist group that ruined your hometowm brother who told everyone details of your private life so people will look weird at you for the rest of your life. Now. He is dying and you feel so bad so you will have to go visit him. Out of sympathy 🥺🥺🥺 Don't you feel bad for him? Do you even have a choice not to visit? Will your consciousness allow you that? Bruh this is such a guil trip I don't care I hope that cocroach dies in a week so they wouldn't have to go through humiliationg of going to see someone who actively put their lives in danger or outright wanted to kill just because he is their brother

God!!!!! Dabi told Enji he wanted to bring him Shouto's head. How the hell is this ending supposed to even be bittersweet, it's just nasty. I don't want them talking about soba!!! Fuck that

I guess I wrote that but in general I don't like to think of anything as ruining your life to a point of no return. A person can always recover and find new happiness. But Dabi-Touya very much actively tried to destroy as much of their lives as he could. Mostly, it might have been a collateral of destroying Enji's life, but the lack of thought towards his siblings and mom is terrifying to me

At this point I feel like its Hori trying to say Rei stayed with Enji without having to explain even though its illogical why his wheelchair is a pram...

I feel like Horikoshi either didn't know what to do with Rei or, for some reason, couldn't do what he wanted. They needed, like, at least one decent conversation inserted somewhere

Have you seen Enji? Can you believe this is a man who just lets his wife push his wheelchair that obviously has some electric power and probably drives by itself? Does he look like someone who accepts help that easily? C'mon, bffr

I am not asking for much. I just want to have a look inside her head for longer than a few panels. She barely has opportunities to speak for herself in the story. I wonder why. Is it that Horikoshi didn't prepare anything for her? Or did his editors say no one cared about her? Or was he lacking time?

Tbh, with such a huge cast of characters, it's hard to do all of them justice, so you end up hinting at what happened and making it short (way too short), just enough to make readers curious but not satisfied

I gotta ask….What can Endeavor do?

I've been seeing so many people saying “Endeavor should've done more to atone for what he's done!” but none of them have any examples of what to do!

From what I’ve seen Endeavor has done the most he can without coming off aggressive. He admitted his faults, took responsibility, apologized, made it clear he wasn't looking for or demanding forgiveness, commissioned a house to be built for them, and even chose to separate himself from them, forcing himself to live alone in a house forever tainted by his abuse.

He's even choosing to regularly visit his son who’s killed over thirty people, joined a terrorist organization, made villains target them, and even tried to kill them. All while he's stuck in a wheelchair.

“I’ll be making amends and apologizing for my sins for the rest of my life, whether you're all around to see it or not and I’ll shield you kids from the fiery fallout to the best of my ability” His words.

So I gotta ask what more can he actually do for them without being asked because he can't and shouldn't force himself past their boundaries. That's why he accepted Natsuo no longer wanting to see him and Toya forever hating him.

Also, I’m glad that they didn't go with the cliche of Endeavor dying or sacrificing himself before he could make amends. (Which he can't do if the others don't want to make amends like Natsuo)

I'm sorry if this sounds annoying but I’m annoyed by people acting like he's the one who deserves to die the most…Sorry to break it to you but he's not. Anime weirdly desensitizes people from the act of murder which leads to them downplaying or ignoring the innocent victims left behind.

I think those people that demand so much are majorly projecting their own traumas on him. And are either much younger or haven't fully dealt with their own feelings on bad fathers to feel this way.

I'm older and have been able to come to terms and get that closure with my own father before dementia got him. I admit that gives me the room to give Endeavor more grace and see that he did what most of us want from a formerly abusive parental figure.

I also have empathy for Dabi, but in the end, he didn't and never will take responsibility. Endeavor did. And others close to him will see it as well.

Another thing that bugs me is why would Enji call his father one of his mistakes too aside from Toya

All his family is just a continuation of him. You can't apply normal logic towards this. He is way too attached. It's like when older teens start to go through the separation period and Enji never had it because his father died. Though it sounds like he hasn't even realized he and his father are separate. Maybe this is some sort of trauma response, his way of dealing with his father dying. Idk

The biggest missed opportunity for development was not letting Endeavor and Hawks and Endeavor and Yagi talk directly face to face to one another about things. But then those are not such relevant discussions that would move the plot...

Fuck the plot. The main plot is trash anyway. Why give us so many details about all these interesting characters and not fucking eleborate and make them talk. Give us some closure!

What the fuck happened to Hawks parents. Why did you make him think of them and then just drop it. Tell me Horikoshi. There's not much time life to close all the open plotlines. What the fuck is wrong with Himuras. Who the hell was Enji's Dad. Crumbs

All of this is just a plot to make us obsessed with side characters and then make us buy expensive merch and figurines, and I hate it all sometimes

*Rei and Shoto are the ones that felt too odd and one-dimensional being all affectionate with even Dabi and looking too happy-go-lucky as if nothing much happened. Shoto not being surly towards his oyaji even feels incongrous considering he fainted leaving oyaji with a snarky comment.

Rei does seem to be very happy-go-lucky even though she looks like a serious and sophisticated person

Nah, I can't believe the way they are all are treating dabi. He ruined their lives. Fuyumi had to quit her job. They all implied to be social pariah. Why are they so uwu owo our little boy. I'd kill him

Shouto snarky remarks are all gone now... I kind of wanted to see Rei getting snarky too
